My flash stopped working for no real reason.

The battery condition may have dropped below the amperage necessary to run the flash. I have had the same problem on my Olympus and Canon, and a replacement battery did the trick.

Cannot download photos

if your camera has a card you can take the card out and put it in your computer if your camera has a card reader, if not you can purchase a card reader, then you put your card from the camera in it and the usb cable hooks to your computer and then you can download all your pic to computer. or you can go to google and type the name of camera and it shoud bring you to the site for that camera and download the software you need good luck.

Turns on and right away it shuts down, doesn't

Your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced, or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

Water in my Camera? What the heck

Depending on the mineral content of the water inside, drying it with any available access doors open over a warm (not hot) source, for several days may restore operation.

Screen works, but the buttons dont

After 3-4 years use including a few snorkelling sessions, the camera seals are going to be way past their best; especially true if you've occasionally stretched that 3m limit by much. If you're like me you definitely will have, my camera is rated to 5m and I regularly snorkel past 10m but I regularly replace and lubricate the seals.

You probably had a leak, if it was freshwater the camera may survive after drying out, but seawater always leaves corrosive and conductive salt deposits behind.

If the camera recovers then take the hint and either get the seals replaced or upgrade to a camera specifically for aquatic use.

How do I use the timer on my my Olympus Stylus 720

To shoot with the self timer: have the camera in shooting mode - press teh down arrow on the back of the camera until the symbol shows that looks like a clock - this turns self timer on.

After it is set to ON - fully depress the shutter button - this will start the self timer process you have 12 seconds if you want to be in the shot -

This is a one shot deal. If you wish tio take another photo using self timer you have to set it up again.
