Its more than likely the board issue if the power light lights up but yet the set is dead with no sound or video. Possible that the main power supply unit which is the SMPS- switch mode power supply- has a faulty capacitor or in the INVERTOR board which has changed the value and so the frequency being changed can cause higher huming level- reduced to lower frequency.

Bad sound on all modes/input. It can be bad sound processor, power amplifiers.
Try hooking up powered PC speakers to the RCA Audio line out to see if it is bad there also, if it is, then it is the sound processor porblem, if not, then it can be bad Power amp circuitS. In either case, those two circuits are on the main board of most TV set. It is not likley to have bothe speakers go out at the same time.
So try it and find out where the problem is.
