Please help my Polaroid 37" lcd

Sounds like The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Polaroid 373b Blues!

what does the board look like in same area as black arc spot on case (damaged??) the high pitch whine you hear is the high freq switching going on in the electronics , this by itself is not too bad ( I had an old floursent clock that whined so loud it made my dog howl !! and it still works !! ) but when it accompanies a non functional device id say the power supply is straining to provide power (over loaded)

Why does it make a siren like noise when i turn on?

You have a bad capacitor in the power supply. Take it in for service or replace yourself. Remove case and fire it up. You'll know right where it is.

Cable cord broke off back of vizio tv other ways to get cable

Replace the cord or watch TV at a relative's house. Seriously, If you cannot replace the cable, your cable company will repair it for you. Probable for free - especially if you say you need to cancel your subscription unless they do it at no charge.

How could i fix my tv

The back-light inverter board should be checked. Check the voltage that comes to that board, from the TVs' main power supply regulator board. You should have a digital multimeter to measure these voltages. If you wish to get some details, http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts.

Tv turns on no picture no sound i think its the remote

Its more than likely the board issue if the power light lights up but yet the set is dead with no sound or video. That could be either a power supply issue or a main board issue, and will require troubleshooting to determine if its the power board or is it the main board not sending the power on command. I would try www.tvrepairworld.com for assistance as they can help you determine which board actually has the issue.

What are 2 blown casps in a polaroid tv, and how can you fix them?

Did you get a estimate or what? CAPS will have a value and voltage rating marked on them as well as a location number on the circuit board which is a reference to them as parts in the parts list for the set.Filter caps often puff up when they fail,,two leads each and soldered into a board---here are what some bad caps look like. 6_12_2012_3_42_07_am.jpg6_12_2012_3_42_31_am.jpgarrows point to extreme examples of puffed up caps that are bad.

Polaroid flm-373b lcd tv - making a loud buzzing

Possible that the main power supply unit which is the SMPS- switch mode power supply- has a faulty capacitor or in the INVERTOR board which has changed the value and so the frequency being changed can cause higher huming level- reduced to lower frequency.
so check the board for leaks , if so replace. Also check if the threshold voltages are below level in these circuits. if so the capacitor can be identified. If there is change after the component heats then simulate the circuit board and confirm using a hair dryer.

Polaroid flm-3232 with crackling sound. I

Bad sound on all modes/input. It can be bad sound processor, power amplifiers.
Try hooking up powered PC speakers to the RCA Audio line out to see if it is bad there also, if it is, then it is the sound processor porblem, if not, then it can be bad Power amp circuitS. In either case, those two circuits are on the main board of most TV set. It is not likley to have bothe speakers go out at the same time.
So try it and find out where the problem is.
