Polaroid FLM-2632 Television - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Having browsed the user manual I wonder if you plugged in the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System while the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv was powered down via the optical cable . Then powered up the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System first and then powered up the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv Maybe the Polaroid FLM-2632 TV has to detect that the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System is connected and powered up when the Polaroid FLM-2632 powers up. To activate its digital audio out ???? The note part about only being available only under HDTV (cable/air) mode. Might be the cause of your hassle also ? You could try pressing the source button on the remote to see if that brings it up. Also the TV may have got itself in a muddle. There will be a way to reset it to factory setting. If you can get into the TV's setup menu there ought to be an option buried somewhere to do that.

Check the picture settings aspect ratio. Refer its user manual for details.

i had the same problem. i opened the panel in the back of the tv (3 screws) and opened the aluminum panel (3 screws). there's a red led light located at the bottom left corner of the top board. to the right of the led light, you will find this thing with 4 switches. i turned the two bottom switches "burn" and "epmw" to on. so far tv have been working.

it is those tvs tend to over heat too much horrible tv send it back and get upgrade

Did you already try reseating the ribbon cable between the T-CON and the LCD panel yet. It does not sounds like bad screen. Screen is the most expensive part of the TV, just GOOGLE the part number as shown on the LCD panel to ifnd out how much it will be.

Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

Your backlight has failed. You will need a replacement.

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV. I may have the solution to your problem.

Here was MY problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you to consider.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. They can be found online. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It will, at the very least, give you a general idea of the process. it is very simple , take back cover off , then u would see shield take this cover off the u would see the power supply there 2 bad capacitors 1000uf at 25 volt , replace this 2 cap and problem solve

Have a good antana like a roof or a HD antana plug into the ANT tv hole.Tv remote push the tv menu.Goto SETUP go down to CH.push and pick AIR not cable.Push for scan for free DTV tv channels.When finish scan u will have all the free DTV channels,depend how good is ur tv antana receptions is.

First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there are some troubleshoot you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.
