Sound suddenly went out on Polaroid FLM 3232...
I also had this problem with the sound suddenly going out. After spending hours determining that it was not caused by my cable box, and unlocking volume codes and such, I took someone else's advice and hooked up a cheap surround sound speaker system through the audio ports on the back. Now I have sound for my tv, and it even sounds better than when the tv sound was working.

Polaroid 32 lcd hdtv/monitor model flm-3232
yes you have to test voltage but you must plug it in and check the power supply board first, the most common problem for those things is the 24 volt transformer in the power board fails check it for 24 volt output first, then trace the power route from there and the component that the board traces lead you to that dont transfer power through it will most likely be the problem but start at your power suopply and work outward from there. mine the 24 volt converter or transformer blew. i have been looking for one for 4 months. there is a eeprom in the main video board that blows also its easily found, it turns the unit on from the standby switch. check it also with a volt meter. you cant miss it on the board.

TV just turned off by itself and wont turn on....
LCD type TV's ought to be the most reliable type, but these Polaroids
all have early failures of the power supply. Only way to fix it
is to replace the whole electronic module. Call Polaroid cust.
service and be persistant because they are used to abuse from angry
customers. Well, it is possible to replace the elec. caps in the
power supply and maybe the FETs, but us experts are kinda keeping those
details for the paying customers.
Good Luck

Polaroid lcd hdtv 27" buzzzz
thre are several components that can make a buzzing sound, especially a bad power component or capacitor. check the capacitors to make sure they are installed in the board correctly. the stripe on the cap must line up with the white mark on the board under it. remove the back panel lay the tv down on a blanket turn it on and see if you can isolate the noise component by ear up close. and visually check for swollen capacitors the top will be pushed up round if bad if good it will be flat on top. warning if tv is less than a year old make the place you bought it replace it. so you dont void the warranty.

Polaroid FLM-3232 LCD Television
Sounds like a crack in the lcd panel or a toren or seperated ribbon cable on the lcd panel, could also be a bad memory board but not likely, dropping the remote could not cause this problem unless the remote hit the tv when it was dropped

Video settings
I think this is what you need.
Before pressing Menu make sure the picture mode button is set to User then you can change your contrast etc.
Also this is how to get to the factory settings menu but don't touch anything your not sure of or you could really mess up your tv for good. Don't change settings in here unless you know what you're doing. Don't blame me if you mess up your telly.

TV doesn't turn on
first warper2001 your power supply is probanly bad the voltage checks was you getting 80 volts on the output side of the transformers each one should be labeled as to the output voltage, at least one of them should only supply 24 volts, the transformer went bad probably overheated and melted the protective coating in the trans and let the voltage increase. could have burned out lots of things. unplug it, use a screw driver and short across the plug ins and the ground on the cord to drain the capicitors in the unit. the ohms check the components through each and to ground. check for opens and shorts. when checking a board remember that you will get a little bled back because you cannot isolate the parts. so most of you ohms readings should be large amounts of resistance if not you have a problem with that component, wire coils excluded. ie transformers they are best voltage checked. hello motorcity kid. i sent you a buddy message but also remember these items of advice.

Screen goes black with sound
the lcd control board is out side the control box, its probably the culprit, its under 20 dollars new. the swollen cap means that its getting too much voltage to that component. better do voltage checks on the power supply each transformer is labelled for voltage output make sure its providing the correct voltage and not surging, this can cause the tv to fail with serious problems. now mr zuzu13 you need to have the tv on a surge protector and be careful not to let it arc when plugging in. you also need to do the same checks as above its most likely a power supply problem causing the shut downs. also reset your tv to factory settings by punching in 8282 on the remote this might also solve your problems. but dont forget to check the power supply now it might save you a costly repair.
