I had the Same issue. on a 50PF9431D/37 set. Many Plasma Set's use a LJ44-00118A PS-505-PH Power supply from Samsung. Known to have this common problem. If you can, or have a friend that can Solder components?. Unplug your set remove the back panel & locate your power supply. Is a Link to a photo of the PCB. Make a note of the locations of all cable connections then unplug them all. Un-install PCB, Check all Fuse first. I believe their is 5 or 6 of them on the PCB. Then replace the two 3300uf 10v 105C Radial capacitors at C8060 & C8059. Look to see if the Caps are deformed and or split at the top. The location of the caps are in the Lower bottom edge of the PCB. A local shop may Carrie them if not, digi-key has them. two suggestions, NEVER BUY POLAROID AGAIN. I have several dead poly's in my shop and I do NOT recommend the brand for any reason, stick with samsung. Next, You need to have your power board rebuilt. Polaroid sells it as a part of the control box, There is a seller on ebay that rebuilds the entire box for $200. Personally, I'd put the thing up for sale and put the money toward a tv you can count on to last.

The only solution would replace the control module in the Tv set this would be the only viable solution we would have to offer you. I understand a new remote will not work in this case as the module inside the tv is stuck and is not working properly.

1. Replace the module

If the Tv is under warranty seek warranty support before attempting any repairs yourself.

This may be a liitle more informative to you....if you haven't already read it. This fixed my problem, I had 2 blown caps.

You still need a converter box for it to work off the antenna.

I have a good but with green tint on a polaroid tv model number 64SX505Y-DC02

Most universal remotes don't have the screen mode button. So, your better off with the orginal remote for the TV.
The cheapest place I can find one for you is NewRemoteControl.com
It's going for $49.95
It's a little pricey, but it will have all the option buttons for the TV.

may i knw exactly the model that you have.

I had same problem, I fixed changing main board I found from FLM-3237 that used same part #, It worked perfect.

Most likley it is the main processor on the main board..You cannot replace this processor.Go to shopjimmy.com and see if they have just the main board.

This is a pretty common problem with these units and as long as you follow the instructions you can`t go wrong saving yourself some money trying.I charge $115.00 to do this job.

you have a power supply problem.. I have fixed serveral tvs with this problem. normally you have to replace busted capacitors in the power supply board.
