A quick and simple solution is to plug the tv via the audio/aux out phono 's to a amp or stereo with aux in,then run the sound through the amp/stereo.
The sound will be alot better than the speakers on the tv anyway.

Make sure the SAP is turned off in the audio section of your menu. If that's ok, then the main board needs replaced. In my opinion it would not be worth investing the money into it. Parts are also very difficult to locate for Polaroid sets.

I need help fixing a Polaroid FLM-3232 w/o power
I do not know what your problem is as you do not even describe a problem, but I dare say capacitors do not need to be bulged to be deffective.
Usually the ones closest to heat source are the ones to dry first; bulging can be result of a too strong current running through them too and not neccessarily related to heat.
Usually they are large and close to the connectors that carry power from the power board to other internal boards.
Other capacitors may also be affected, of course.
You can try your luck replacing them in order, bring the TV to a specialist or start reading the theory of repairing SMPS - you can find it online, an excellent read if you really want to get into it.

WE were watching tv and
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. From what
you have described it seems that you
might have a backlight issue with this TV set. It could also be due to the
inverter circuits for the backlights. The inverter is the power
supply source for the backlights. There could also be a screen driver
problem; if it is then you have to change the entire board. All this is only
recommended if you have some kind of expertise for checking the internal
circuitry of the TV as these units have high voltages running even when the set
is switched off.
Please do accept the solution
if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Thanks
Rylee

No picture on the TV.
On some of these tv sets they use a circuit that iluminates the lcd screen from the back(back light inverter)that sometimes fails. turn on your tv and select the menu with your rmote, if you have a hand held battery lamp point it at the dark screen and look for a dim menu if you do this will be the circuit you need repairs on. Some of those circuits are replaceable and available from some web electronic stores. Thanks!
