My 32in hdtv turns on, flashes Polaroid and shows there is no signal then turns off, what could the problem be?

Turn it off/on a few times within a few mins each times.U get a flashes of picture about 10 to 20 sec?Than ur LCD inverter board is dead.Tries Websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish LCD inverter board for the replacement.It usally a long PC board in shape.

Check the power supply module and voltages before and after the problem started.

the problem is the speakers of your tv replace with the same type of speaker

Yes, it has an ATSC tuner (digital).

OK: RELAX AND START WITH POWER SUPPLY MODULE. TAKE 3 MACHINE SCREWS(BLACK) OUT, RIGHT ABOVE YOUR IN/OUT CONNECTORS. YOU NEED TO RELEASE PLASTIC COVER, WHICH HAS A BIGGER SCREW IN A MIDDLE. ANOTHER 3 WHITE SCREWS AT THE VERY BOTTOM TO REMOVE.NOW, PULL IT OUT TOWARDS YOURSELF.NOTE: IT GOES INTO SLOTS AT THE UPPER SIDE. TAKE IT AWAY AND THROW IT OUT! DON'T USE IT ANYMORE! IT LACKS VENTILATION, THAT'S WHY YOUR SET QUIT!. LOCATE POWER SUPPLY BOARD(UPPER ONE), WHERE POWER CORD CONNECT TO. IT HAS 3-5 PLUGS. ONE TO THE RIGHT(2WIRES) THE REST AT THE LEFT SIDE. LOOK FOR BLOATED CAPACITORS, FIRST. FOUND NOTHING? SOME HAVE BALLAST BUILT INTO. HAS 2 18 PIN IC CHIPS ON THE LEFT SIDE AND THICK HV VIRES GOING TO THE PLUG. IN THIS CASE, YOU MUST REPLACE THIS BOARD.
IF NOT, MOST LIKELY CAPACITORS ARE THE PROBLEM.

You have a ma inboard that needs service.
the LCD controller IC is malfunctioning along with some other components surrounding it . check the power supplying this portion of the board also also. Your TV will need service.

Well there are two options here and unfortunately there's no easy way to tell which is which without opening the TV.

First and actually more common option is failed power supply. It fails in a way that allows it to power the basic TV functionality (main board works, you can power on and off), but it fails to provide power to the backlight so that you can see the display.

If you like digging you can open the back cover and use a voltmeter to figure if both power cables going out of the power board provide 24V . One of the goes to the main board and the power is there in your case (since you can turn on/off and can hear sound), the othe goes through a connector to the LCD's backlight. That's the one you suspect has failed and that's the one you should measure.

if you can see 24V there then it is NOT the power board.

If you do not have 24V there then IT IS the power board. You can have yours serviced or buy a replacement.

Now, if it isn't the power board, it might be the inverter that takes that power. Inverter is a bit harder to troubleshoot on this TV model and I will not coever it here.

Finally, there is a minimal risk that this might be due to overheated and malfunctioning main board. Replacement is the only viable alternative here.

try running a cd/dvd cleaning disk through it could be dirty optical pickup. They can be purchased from most electronic retailers

There is no such thing as a 'digital antenna;' any antenna with sufficient gain and bandwidth will receive whatever signals there are available.
You may have to change the input source via your set's menu so it is looking at the antenna input; it may be set to cable currently.

U know how to solders?Take out the power supply board.Check for puff,bulge up or bust open capacitors.Replaced these capacitors will get ur power back.Or buy a whole refurbish power supply board for replacement at Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com.

hi all .ive had the same problem,a thick black line down screen.sometimes it flickers from top to bottom and other permantly in view.but i have solved it.forget your ic boards and taking apart tv.have you got either a ps3 or wii connected to tv.if so unplug power lead from socket and relocate in seperate socket.make sure the lead is completely free of any other leads and you might just find this works.i think the power lead creates some sort of frequency that the tv picks up .good luck hope it works

basically the voltages are alway there and they are printed next to the connectors do you have an led on in the front? if not you will find a diode mounted on a hink sink that will be shorted if the light is on then you have a bad capacitor the can shaped device will be domed or puffed up on top the value is printed on the side as far as the diode it is a gernal perpose 5Amp diode nte 576

Ur LCD inverter board it dead.Must replaced this board to get picture back.The board part is usally a long board part.
