Schaerer Siena Espresso Machine Questions & Answers
My shaerer machine (ambiente) is giving error, selection locked, heating steam. Need help. Thanks.
This is quite common on steam boiler when the level probe is not reached within a specific period of time. Reason is due to limescale buildup which restricts water flow...
You need to remove and descale the fill pipe to the steam boiler. If its very badly blocked, you can drill out the blockage with a 7/8mm drill bit and then leave it soak in descaling solution until its clear and you can blow through it. Also you will find a small restrictor between fittings somewhere back from the fill pipe (between the fill pipe and the fill valve). This is a small disc shape with a 0.8mm bore in the centre, you'll need to check that this is clear also, they are notorious for blocking up due to small size. You can clear this using some very fine wire or if you have the Schaerer expander baffle pen. Be careful not to lose this restrictor when loosening the brass fittings as it is extremely difficult to find if you drop it into the machine. Good luck
Schaerer coffee art plus dispenses different amounts
Is the levels issue with milk drinks or with black coffee/espresso? And how old is the machine please provide first 4 digits of the serial number.
First of all, check that the machine definitely has a good water supply to eliminate a blocked filter.
If no fault with supply then the flow meter is faulty. This can occur without displaying a fault on screen, what happens is, if you make around several cups of reg black coffee they may all be different volumes.
If you provide more details I can further assist you in diagnosing.
Schaerer Siena 2 is showing 'water tank empty' even though it's full - can anyone help out?
There is a float switch in the water tank which is most likely sticking in the downward position. Take out the tank, at the back left you'll see a red piece of plastic. This is the float switch, jiggle it up and down and couple of times and ensure it moves freely, then fill the tank with water and check that the switch rises up with the water level. If this doent solve it, let us know.
How do you prime the siena?
Schaerer Siena machines can become airlocked from time to time leaving the pump running yet sounding rough. Easiest way of remedying this is by running the hot water (either by pressing the jug button or turning the hot water knob on the side depending on which model you've got) option through the silver wand. Once you get a strong water flow through this then the machine pump has been primed and you can then begin making coffee as normal. You'll notice the sound the pump makes will change as the water comes through.
Good luck!
TRYING TO FIND A PART
I can e-mail it to you. You need to check or contact "Fix Ya" and ask if is OK. for me to e-mail it.
May be you don't have to ask, I don't know the rules.
Where do i put the cleaning tablet?
Cleaning tablet goes in the top of the machine in the opening just to the right of the bean hopper. Generally there is a little cover that you lift off and drop the tablet down the chute when prompted in the cleaning cycle.
Motor time out
Must be the brew motor which drives the brew unit or Automat.
First step is to remove the brew unit and check how freely it can move up and down. If it is quite stiff there is probably a coffee build up behind the chamber, you can take it apart and clean it, then grease the black auger at the top and bottom before putting it back together.
If the unit is moving freely, then the chances are its a fault with the motor and will need to be replaced. The motor is what drives the gear wheel that the brew unit sits down on to....
Hope this helps.
Just had our schaerer ambiente-1
First You need to check the inlet water valve, I think the plunger is not working (sealing) properly and 2nd. Check the water level probe make sure is clean. If you don't feel comfortable doing this take it to a pro.
My shaerer expresso machine (ambiente) is giving
"level steam probe" occurs when it takes more than two minutes to fill the water in the steam boiler. The easiest solution is low water pressure to the machine. Does it have a water filter? replacing it will probably help. Other problems could be the fill valve is not opening fully and or scaled water lines going to the steam boiler. The first thing I would do is activate the hot water tap and look at the pressure. If the water is coming out slow then I know its a restriction to the machine.
