The "PF" code is stating that there has been a power failure. There could be a possibility that your dishwasher is losing power mid-cycle. It is likely that sufficient water is not coming from the top arm. These dishwashers oscillate the water flow between top and bottoms sprays alternatively. This ensures water is pumped with adequate force. It is possible this mechanism is not working correctly. The device called check ball item 58 in this diagram actually does this function. Hi Mark, this is AP and I'm happy to assist you! I understand you are having trouble with your dishwasher not draining and making odd noises. I would suggest checking the drain hose to ensure it has not become twisted or kinked. Even if the hose is not kinked make sure it has not fallen behind the dishwasher either as this can prevent draining. Additionally, you could check the filter at the bottom of the tub to make sure no debris has clogged the filter or disposal. Other than that the drain pump could be the culprit. If so, I would recommend a local authorized technician to come out and properly diagnose the dishwasher. I hope this information helps.

Hi Scott, this is JK. Thank you for your post. I see that you are experiencing some concerns with your dishwasher not starting cycles. The issue may lie with the door latch; a door switch is used to start and stop your dishwasher. It's a safety feature that won't allow water to flow with the door open. With a faulty door switch, there is a chance your dishwasher won't start at all. Dishwasher door switches are about an inch long. The latches are usually black but can be red. There are metal prongs on the body of the switch called terminals. Some door switches have two terminals and some have three. If your door switch is OK, check the timer assembly. This controls when and how long power is sent to other controls on your dishwasher. If these controls don't receive power, they won't work. The timer assembly contains a motor. Check this motor as well. It is often cheaper just to replace the timer motor rather than the complete assembly. My last suggestion is to check the cycle selector switches. These switches indicate cycles for washing, drying, and setting the temperature of the water. If one of your switches is the problem your dishwasher may not start. Dishwasher cycle selector switches tell the timer which cycle to run by opening and closing electrical circuits. Most selector switches are six to eight inches long. They are usually black and have terminals. By testing each one of these parts with an ohmmeter you should be able to determine why your dishwasher is not working. It is possible for other parts to fail but these are the most common parts to check. If all of these suggestions pan out and the problem still persist, think about what may have happened prior to this occurrence. For instance, did you notice any error codes, odors, or other strange functions prior to this issue? Here is a list to trouble shoot your DW. Cross off each item as you go. If this is a new DW..... less than a year old..... it may be under installers warrantee and definitely is under a manufacturers warrantee. Keep that in mind as you go. Look also at your owners manual for troubleshooting help.

The UO code on most Frigidaire dishwashers means that the vent at the back of the dishwasher is open (or at least the sensor is claiming it is open). Since this vent should be closed except during the drying cycle, the unit will not start. This avoids having the washer spray water into your cabinet during the wash cycle. The vent sensor is an optical sensor that is inside the vent assembly. So there are a few places that could fail causing the error. First check the wiring and the connectors for the wires between the vent and the CCU (main control board). If there are any broken wires or corrosion the message may not be reaching the control board. Replace any faulty wiring. If the wiring is fine, try replacing the vent assembly. On some Frigidaire models, the wiring and the vent assembly need to be replaced at the same time. If that doesn't solve the problem then the control board needs to be replaced.
