Frigidaire AEQ6000ES Electric Dryer Questions & Answers
Aeq8000sf won't heat
ELECTRIC Dryer no heat or little heat, or shuts down to fast:
Check your venting and lint basket. Check blower for lint build up and blower wheel obstruction., test by trying to turn the wheel manually by hand (should be easy) May have to remove cabinet or front/back plate to get to it)
Next check the heating element itself with a meter for continuity OHMS CLOSED CIRCUIT. If not its defective or has a short if its grounding out? Which in turns causes blown fuses or thermostats or overheating.
Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage. 220 because if u only get half or 110 volts you will be able to run the machine which uses only 110 to run motor but not the heater which uses a full 220,
Check the thermal cut off, the cycling and the hi limit thermostats.
For continuity or OHMS. If no ohms or resistance they need replacement.
In some dryer's the control panel relies on a thermistor rather than a CYCLING thermostat to regulate the drum's air temperature by monitoring the component's resistance changes; resistance goes down as temperature increases and up when temperature decreases. Once the drum's air temperature reaches a certain level required to dry clothes, the control panel shuts off the heater. The panel will turn the heater on again and begin another heating cycle when the thermistor indicates that more heat is needed to keep the air temperature constant inside the drum
Lastly check your moister sensor. ( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shut down early and clothes are still wet.
Test with a meter at room temperature and it should show continuity.
A failed moisture sensor will affect the dryer run time in the automatic moisture sensing cycle but it will not affect the heating of the dryer or the timed cycle. Which are reflected by the thermostats.

Why can't I get my new control board for my Frigidaire affinity dryer to work?
Hey tim bryant, thanks for your post!
I understand that you have installed a new board inside of your Frigidaire dryer, AEQ6000ES2, and on the new board the lights blink. I would recommend a reset on your appliance which can be done by disconnecting the power to it for roughly ten minutes. If that step does not correct the issue I would seek professional assistance for the repair of your dryer. I hope that is helpful. -Matt
How to unstuck a key on frigidaire affinity dryer
The front panel keys are floating, much like your TV remote, but always vertical; an easy target for grime and build-up. The best solution is to remove the top panel (screws are in the rear) then carefully remove the correct screws for the front panel. The control board can then be detached and you can sit at the table and clean thoroughly with a proper solvent. Reassemble and punch away.
My Frigidaire Dryer (AEQ6000ES2) won't heat. Did
I am not a repair professional. I am just a 78 year old man who has been making his own repairs for about 50 years. Therefore the dryer ID doesn't mean
anything to me. Over the years, I haven't had much trouble with my dryers. The E56 error code means high motor current. To help you find out why, I suggest you go to
www.applianceaid.com where they have very good trouble shooting and repair information on dryers and other appliances. I think you'll find what you need there. You can probably verify the meaning of the error code there. Good luck with it. If I have helped you, please rate my advice on fixya.
Frigidare AEQ600es2 does not heat. Reports error code E68, but all buttons seem to work.
You will nee
The error code E68 is a stuck button error code. I recommend checking each button to make sure it loose in the plastic console. The button should rock side to side a little bit. If all the buttons are loose you can try to reset the unit control by unplugging the dryer for two minutes. If the error code comes back you will need to replace the unit control.
Frigidaire electric dryer error code AD
Hello - Typically error code AD indicates that the Auto Dry option has been selected. Using no heat in any Auto Dry cycle will result in long drying times and/or wet loads at the end of cycle. I would suggest selecting other option or resetting the unit. You may either unplug it or flip the household breaker off for approximately two minutes. Restart unit, select a normal cycle and verify if it will heat. If the dryer does not heat the unit it could possibly have a faulty heating element, blower assembly or a communication problem with the control panel. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.
How do I replace heat element?
Hello, Click this link this is the schematic for your entire unit

Next you would take and remove the control panel by undoing the wire connections and then unscrewing the control panel and also removing it from the machine. After removing the control panel you would next remove the front panel from the machine by unscrewing the screws holding the panel to the frame of the unit as well as the screws on the inside of the door. You would also want to have a multimeter and perform a continuity test on the heat to check first if that is the piece you actually need. While conducting this test you can also perform this test also on the hi and low thermistors as well as the tempreture control thermistor that is located on the blower assembly. Most of the time when you do not have heat in a dryer it is not due to a heater fault and would be due to a thermistor issue instead. If you have any further questions message me back. I await your reply.Thank youRick
