I am turning on my window air conditioner for the

Hi, what is going on is the unit is working good so you will have condensation running down the front of the indoor coil. You will have a trough at the bottom that has collected dirt over the winter and has clogged up the drain. Some window units have a small supple clear hose attached to one end of the coil that may be plugged up, or this unit has what we call weep holes around it starting at the inside edges on each corner and around the out side. Go outdoors and look and see if you see a hose or very small holes that are plugged up. If the hose/if there is one, try and blow it out. What is happening, is the blade from the fan motor is picking up the water and slinging it into the home. Yes, you can solve this once you find how it drains and where it drains. Take a good strong light inside to check the front and see if indeed there is a hose. Keep me posted on this and I hope that I have led you in the right direction to solve this, and I am sure I have. Please let me know.
Sincerely,

Window unit not cooling how to put in freon

You have to put a piercing valve on the sucction side because this units don't come with service port, but if you going to add freon ,it is better to fix the leak before and after that replace the drier and vacum the system.

Can I mount a window unit with no outside access

You could/can, but don't forget that (a) there is a good chance of heavy condesation, so size pan appropriately, or drain...and (b) The enclosed space where the drip pan is, is going to get quite warm. Hope this helps

How to install if wall is too deep for wall AC unit

this may be an issue, you need to verify the air flow patterns over the condenser coil. If there are louvers in the sides that would be the "intake" for the coil and it will definitely not work if these are blocked. You may need to make the opening larger and mount the sleeve from outside as it would be better to have the controls closer to the outside wall than the air flow blocked by the wall.

Frigidaire thru-wall AC drips water when AC is on

The drain line is clogged. You will have to remove it again, open it up and access the drain line and clean it out.
It will be on the right or left corner of the evaporator coil(inside coil).
You will probably have to take it outside and use a garden hose the spray water into the drain until it runs freely.
When you reinstall it tilt it 1/2 inch to the rear.

Water in the Unit

Most of the AC Unit lately are not made to drain. So when you have water collecting inside the unit, the condenser and the evaporator is suppose to help dissolve the water.
When water is collecting inside the appliance like that, it is either because the ac unit is not installed correctly or you live in a high humid area.

FAC124P1A1 window unit

It is probably freezing up and then thawing. Try cleaning the filters and running it at a higher temperature for a while. If it goes away then you are finished. If it does not go away you may need to bring it to a service center to have the refrigerant levels checked.

Through the wall vs. window installation

I just purchased an alleged "window mount" air conditioner with the closest dimensions to the existing model. Do these mount as through the wall as well? My current opening = 18 x 26" the new purchase is 16 27/32 x 26.

There are 2 different types of window air conditioners – there are the window type of which will fit in a window that opens top to bottom and there is the slide in model of which the actual air conditioner will slide into a metal sleeve which is very common in apartments. In either case you need to measure the inside of the metal sleeve and then give that to the air conditioner dealer and he will know what to do and there is also a POS (point of sale) @ the store of which will also assist you in the measurement of the A/C unit – the window unit you need to measure the opening of the window itself, I hope this was helpful

Unit stops working and I need to unplug unit

After 7 years of great service you should retire this system and replace it with a new unit.

Products made these days are not built for quality, that was back in the good old days, it's 2008, things are made to only last a short period of time.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I will only tell you the best solution for your problem and not waste your time running around trying to fix something that may cost you more than replacing the problem you already have.

Have a Great Day!!
