Frigidaire FAC126P1 wall/window Air Conditioner - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Drainage occurs near the front
The A/C unit should be tilted slightly to the rear and this will allow the water to leak to the outside of the window, you may have to drill a small hole in the case to drain if there is no pre-existing hole.
THE DRAIN HOLE FOR MY FRIDGIDAIRE AIR CONDITIONER
You will have to remove the unit fro the window, and take it outside and remove the cover, unless the sheel remains in the window, and use a water hose to clean all the debris out and clear the drain, this really needs to be done every year, also, make sure the tilt on the unit is enough for the water to drain outside, not in,if this was at all helpful, please rate thank you.
A/c runs 1-2 hours then will not go back on for a day
Sounds like the unit is shutting of on thermal protection. Try removing it from the sleeve and take it outside. Wash it out good with a garden hose. If the problem persists, there is likely a problem with the refrigerant.
Warm air
could be several things...if all is working/blowing and its clean inside & outside with a clean filter then more then likely it's low on gas/freon......if you continoue to run it it'll pobly ice up/freeze......also make sure you hear the compressor running as well as the fan blowing. sometimes this can be tough listen for that deep rumble/humming sound thats the compressor.
Compressor keeps kicking off.
Allot of times it is a simple fix. If you remove the front cover you should see the thermostat sensing probe attached to the front coil. This is supposed to sense the air intake air only. Sometimes for whatever reason some of the cold output air is directed across this your unit thinks it is colder in the room than it is. It looks like a copper wire attached to the front coil. Sometimes you can simply relocate this towards the bottom of the front coil and it will solve the problem. It should not actually be touching the coil fins but have holders that hold it away from the coil. I have actually just let the end of it stick out under the front cover a little so it will actually sense room air temperature and it has worked well. If you have anything blocking the cold air output like a curtain etc. It will cause your cold air to **** back into the unit and shut it off also.
Air not cold
The compressor might not be turning on. There may be a low pressure switch that is not letting it turn on. It may be so low on refrigerant that it won't let it run because it would damage the compressor beyond repair. I would take it to your local appliand repair shop and get it looked at. I would ask upfront for a quote for repair. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy a new unit than to pay just the labor for repairs.
How to prevent fire in airconditioning control
good question.sence you have an existing unit,an i hope that you have a fault interrupter ,but if not dont be alarmed .Number one thing try to locate the circuit that it is on .gather the knowledge of all the other things that is connected with the unit .If it is on a seperate circuit that is good ,the key is not to over load system, an general clean unit yearly
Unit releases xcessive amounts of water when
Part of an air conditioners job is to remove humidity from the air. The more humid it is, the moisture it will remove from the air. Some thru-the-wall/window air conditioners have fresh air vents. Ensure the fresh air vents are closed and make sure there is no air leakage around the unit & wall.
Keep your air filter and coils clean. If your unit has multiple blower speeds, use high speed during the more humid conditions.
I hope you find this information helpful moving forward. :-)
A.C. unit is draining on the inside of the house.
There is a drainage and it is stucked with dust, mold etc. Just open metal lid on the wall inside your house, where the coil is installed and where you're changing filters, remove air filter, there at bottom you will see the drainage hole (now under water probably). Rent an air compressor from Home Depot or Lowe's, stick the hose to that hole and turn compressor on. This shall blow the drainage through. After that slowly pour 1-2 cups of Chlorox or Tylex in there, let it stand for 15 minutes, then pour some more water and blow with compressed air again, then flush it with water and blow last time.
Do that at least once in two years, or you gonna have same problem again.
