Outlet OK no power

It sounds like the magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT

This is a job for a professional but if you are safety clued up, here's instruction.
Make sure the !!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on high resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the fault!), the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

How do I find the 2 (or 3) fuses in this unit?

Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

no you can have many different issues, other than a control panel. and other than that i must give you this warning, and good luck

Microwaves must be serviced by technicians due to the inherent dangers involved in repairing these appliances. Internal capacitors can retain a lethal electrical charge even though the unit is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the unit following any internal component repair.

Whirlpool MH3184XP Microwave Turns On,

Suggest you pull the plug out, remove outer cover and place a cup of water into the micro. Set power to minimum then switch on and take note if the fan works or not. If not, switch off immediately and have it replaced(magnatron will burn out if left to run without fan.)

Microwave won't cut off just

This could be a failing turntable motor, but more likely your turntable support has gotten bent. That's an easier and cheaper problem to solve.

Excessive heat can sometimes make the legs of the support bend so that the center is raised up far enough that it won't always make good contact with the motor.

You can test this by running the microwave empty for a few seconds. It may hesitate to turn or stutter.

Next try it with a bowl with several cups of water in it. The extra weight may push it down so it makes good contact and runs without a hitch.

The way I fix these is to use a stove burner or a torch to heat up the legs and bend them up a bit.

Then I quickly set up or clamp the support so it's held in the proper position for a few minutes until it cools.

One way to hold the heated support in position is to place an object under the end of each leg and put something slightly heavy on top of it in the middle.

If you need a new motor or just want to see helpful exploded views of your model, see the GE or Sears parts Web site:

I have given you service manual and self help links if you choose.
There is NO fuse to reset/replace I am sorry. I get spontaneous failures frequently in my shop, and am often asked, why, well, it's simply, it's the electricity, eventually, it will breakdown, something, by it's very action.
More tan likely the magnetron has "Blown" that or the High Power Diode, or both. MW, are very dangerous to service, so be very careful and pay attention to the safety instructions in the manuals. It maybe best to get a "Quote" for repair from a Whirlpool, authorised service center, and ask for a "Quote" for repair. As often these days the cost of replacement parts and labor, can even exceed the cost of a new one, with a warranty.

Fan motor runs at low speed when fan turned off

Is it stuck on the low speed when it should be running at the high speed?

Is it coming on when it should not?

Have the cooktop lights failed recently?

If so, then the circuit board may have been damaged. We repair those.

Or it may be a bad door switch or mount.

But to know for sure, we'd need your brand and model number and more specific details on how it's failing.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more free information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

HAS NO POWER. BREAKER OK OUTLET CHECKS OUT GOOD.

The most likely problem is the High Voltage diode. It is located inside, usually near the fuse. One end goes to the chassis, the other goes to one terminal of the filter capacitor via a spade lug. The diode is brown and has an arrow on it. You can get parts at www.mcmelectronics.com . Let me know if I can be of anymore help.

Microwave just stopped as if i popped a breaker

In all likelihood the mangnetron has failed, or perhaps even the Power Supply. You need to have it serviced by a reputable service centre/man. Ensure you get a firm "Quote" before proceeding, and remember these days the cost of repair can equal or exceed the price of a new one.

Microwave not heating items, also range vent not operating

the unit inside the microwave that heats called the "magnetron" has gone bad or the circuits that power the magnetron and other parts of the unit have failed. if its under warranty still, send it back to the manufacturer. if not you can call some repair shops and see how much it would be to service it, but its most likely going to be cheaper to purchace a new microwave since they are relatively cheap these days, they dont make them long lasting anymore, they are a "disposable" product these days

This is probably lack of lubrication of either the cooling fan or the turntable if it has one.

If the cooling fan fails totally, the magnetron will fail so service the unit immediately.
