Remote does not control the Ipod (Nano)
To connect the iPod to the system correctly, follow this simple procedure:
-
Plug the iPod AV adapter into the charging port on the bottom of the device. This is the same port you plug the charger or USB cable into. The other side of the adapter will have three RCA ports. The yellow port you are not going to use because this controls the video portion of the iPod.
-
Plug the red and white RCA cables into the "Audio In" ports on the backside of the Bose GS Series II interface module. This is a small piece of equipment used to control the two speakers and the subwoofer.
-
Power on the Bose GS Series II and your Apple iPod. Turn up the volume to the speaker system using the provided remote control. You can now play the music you want to listen to by selecting it from the menu of your iPod.
If you want to play music you can use your ipod nano, but if you want to play video you need to use ipod 4th and 5th generation.
Here is a link to the complete manual for the advanced remote control:

Where can i buy the htd7001 ipod docking station
[email protected] email me if you still want to buy Philips iPod docking station. I just came across one in a box of misc. electronics I bought at an auction house in Phoenix, AZ. I can use eBay and list it as a private auction. I don't have anyway to test it. I would refund $ it did not work.

OK! The cheapeast and most simple way would for you is to get a 1/8th inch conector jack that adapts into red/white RCA jacks (it will have a couple feet of wire in between the jacks) plug the 1/8 inch adapter into the jack on I-POD and the RED/WHITE ends into the back of your systems aux inputs RED/WHITE! OR tape input ect! make sure I-POD is turned up! and you may have to adjust I pod eq to get the best sound out of system! (OH you can get this adatper at any radio shack or wall-mart!)

Connecting ipod to bose system
Look at the back of your 3-2-1 to see if the auxillary is a single or dual output. You will need that information when you go to Radio Shack, or you can also get at the Apple store, a connector from Gigaware that connects to the ipod. It was only $15-$20,

PHILLIPS HTD 7001 IPOD DOCKING STATION
I also have the same problem but now I think it's the type of I-Pod you use. Do you use the I-Pod 80 Gb video or the newer 160 Gb I-Pod with the cover flow etc. ? The documention of the HTD7001 says it's only support some I-Pods. I would know sure if I would have a type of Video I Pod wich is supported by the documentation
