The sound won't work. What should I do?

I assume that the Bose System will not power up, if that is the case there is a power transformer where the power comes in, the transformer is fused on the inside with a thermal fuse and it will require a professional to take the casing apart and repair it. Now if you do have power and it lights up, it may have audio output problem, either way I suggest a good technician because it is a high end product.

Cd won't play cd's. flashes reading disc several

This problem can be caused by a couple of factors. The first of which is bad CD's if the CD's are in a bad shape they could cause this problem.
Also when the CD's are from a different region and the Bose unit happens not to support that region this could also make the CD's unreadable.
Finally if the unit has not been used in a while there is a probability that the lens has gotten dirty and would need some cleaning just run a CD cleaner on the unit.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

How I change the batteries

hi,
do the following
1. Carefully turn your system upside down.
2. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom
3. Press the arrow on the cover to slide the compartment open.
4. Match the large (-) terminal on the battery to the small terminal on the clip (which lifts out
of the compartment for easier connection).
5. Snap the terminals together firmly.
6. Slide the cover closed.

Use a standard 9V battery (IEC 6F22 in Europe), available at most retail stores. Use an
alkaline battery for longer backup time.ajin_g_0.gif

My BOSE single-CD unit will not read CDs, ejects

Hi,
when a CD inserted inside a cd player and it says unreadable, it means that the lens of the player is weak and can't play the CD inserted.
Use a lens cleaner to clean the lens and it will work.If still it doesn't work then you need to replace the lens.
And as you inserted CD upside down it doesn't affect the working of the player. It is a coincidence that after that there is a lens problem.
Thank You

CDs only play for a few minutes then lock up. You

It sounds like a mechanical problem. Something is keeping the mechanism from moving past a certain spot on its rails as the CD plays. (CDs start playing at the center and the mechanism tracks out from there.) It's not likely to be a CD problem unless it's happening on only one, but it sounds like the problem is on more than that. You would need to open the unit to see the CD mechanism and look for any obvious obstruction. There might be a glob of dirt that's built up, or it may just need a light layer on new lubricant applied. Lubriplate or a similar white lithium grease is what you should use on the rails, lightly applied with a cotton swab.

It's also possible the spindle motor is bad. That's what turns the CD, and its speed changes as the pickup moves along the rails. It may be hitting some speed where its rotation is being affected. The only way to fix that problem would be by replacing the motor. I have never changed a spindle motor in one of these Bose systems, so I can't tell you how difficult it is. The motor has just two solder connections to the circuit board, but sometimes it can be hard to get at mechanically.

There may also be an electronic issue affecting the playback as the motor speed varies, but that's unlikely. Electronic failures normally cause no playback at all or prevent the player from detecting a disc in the first place.

Look for a mechanical problem first, then see if there's a service shop in your area that works on Bose. They'll be able to the more in-depth troubleshooting required.

Your volume amplifier is either gone bad or you have a blown speaker itself.

My bose wave system is no responding to the

The only user serviceable part of this fine system is the battery in the remote. The battery used in most of these remotes is the "button" or "coin" type cell "CR-2032"You can find these at Walmart, Radio Shack, CVS etc. for just a few bucks. Bring the remote batteries with you to match to a replacement.

If that doesn't work, you may need a replacement remote or the radio may need repair.

Good luck!

CD not playable

call bose for repair on this unit. The laser could be dirty but in most cases there is another failure. Possibly in the motor control circuit. They have a flat rate repair service.

CD will not eject disc error comes up

May have to open the unit up and manually remove the disk be very careful to put all parts back together the way it was do not force the disk out. Try it a few times before you put it back together, be careful not to touch anything and shock your self when plugged in. Only Qualified Tech should attempt this.

Will not eject

The problem here is most likely a slipping load belt.

What is happening is that when a disc is loaded, the final stage of the loading sequence causes a magnetic "clamper" to clamp the disk to the CD table. The CD table is the part attached to a motor that spins the disk, If the belt has become slippery ( due to age and heat), there won't be enough grip to break the clamper grip and the disk won't be ejected. To fix this, you must dis-assemble the unit and remove the disc by hand. Then you replace the belt and you are all set. These wave radios are tricky to open if you have not done one before and because of that, this is really not a DIY repair. The belt costs around $5

Hope this helps,

Dan

It won't connect to externa l speakers directly but you could take the RCA output to an amplifier that drives them.

No power

Unfortunately Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively giving them a monopoly on repairs. Their web site, www.bose.com, offers to repair most Wave radios for $100 or to give owners of broken sets a $200 allowance towards the purchase of a new Wave. Before spending the big bucks though, you might want to check out the new HD radios. Better sound and a MUCH lower price.
