Is the entire system shutting off (meaning no power to the unit) or is just the audio turning off? If the entire system is turning off, it is unlikely that the problem is related to the audio settings or connections on the cable box. Instead, check to make sure that the power cord is securely connected to the Acoustimass Module and if necessary, try a different power outlet.
Check that the Bose system power cord is fully seated in the electrical wall outlet and the Bose system.
Check your house's fuse box for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers. Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breakers if necessary.
Make sure that your batteries are working or that you are using the correct DC power cord when playing your Bose system on the go.
Check how many times your Bose system has played a CD in REPEAT DISC or REPEAT DISC RANDOM mode. The Bose system will only repeat a CD three times in these modes before automatically shutting off when using batteries. Check how many times a CD track has played in REPEAT TRACK mode. The Bose system will repeat a CD track eight times when using battery power before automatically shutting off to save power.
Check that you have inserted external sound components correctly into the AUX inputs. Red jack inserts on the sound components go into the red AUX inputs; yellow jack inserts go into the yellow AUX inputs.
