We have a eurosit 0360331

Yes, the thermocouple is a separate part from the valve. It's not necessary to replace the valve assembly.

I light the pilot on

It could be, I want you to try this and see what happens. First clean up the thermocouple with steel wool until it looks new, now carefully try to relocate it (bend it) so it is at the top center of the pilot flame. This is the hottest part of the flame. You may even want to close off the damper slightly until the main flames get hot then open it all the way. Now I am not telling you to close the damper all the way but simply close it partially until the main flame is established for a little bit(two to three minutes). If this works you have a strong draft and just continue to light it the same way. A good draft is not a problem as this vents carbon-monoxide out of your home, and thats a good thing.

I have a switch on the wall that controls the

you need to get wall switch and wire to this changed as it is impossible to test these for faults as can happen after a few hours of operating (usually to do with the heat of the fire place dso if it has a fan hopefully you are using it it'll keep components cooler in heater and stop things like this happening), but i'm assuming that cable to wall switch runs down side of heater or something and i'm guessing its got hot maybe melted to side of heater and may have damaged wall switch so i would replace both, this has really been the only problem i have had all year with heaters and its due to turning the fan off which you can do in some heaters that arn't entirly designed for heating, if you are heating with a gas heater its important to run fan no matter how noisey it may be and there not that noisey really just turn tv up i'd rather be warm through winter than hear my tv so i'd rather hear a fan than the news, most of the time it sounds more intresting anyway and i have heard of mechanics that have pulled out melted fans from heaters because they were off, i have found cables starting to melt too so its a safety issue too and lastley if your not running fan heat goes up flu waste of money so i think its important and would have maore than half of call outs less as it has been a problem with heaters with turning fan off, i may be wrong but i'm guessing this may be the problem and if you do use fan the cable to wall switch may be down side of heater making contact with a hot surface and melting causing problem i would also do switch aswell as heat could have damaged to as cable would have conducted heat to switch

The ignitor is working and

Do you have a digital cam? Post a pic here if you can.

Is the flame fully surrounding the thermocouple?

If so, then remove the seat at the gas valve by wrenching it off the valve.

Look at the inside of the screw fitting you removed, wipe it clean with a dry cloth and re-install it.

When you get the fitting screwed down all the way by hand, DON'T DO THIS WITH A WRENCH, PAY ATTENTION HERE

FINGER TIGHT ONLY AT FIRST

When you get the fitting screwed down all the way by hand, then pick up your fitted wrench and snug the fitting in place by turning it 1/8 to 1/4 turn more, thereby making the connection to the thermocouple.

After the seat of the thermocouple is screwed down to the bottom by hand, using only your fingers at first, the connection to the micro-voltage is made by SNUGGING the fitting in place using approximately 1/8 turn.

Use approximately 1/8 to 1/4 turn with a fitted wrench. Try not to use an adjustable wrench and definitely do not use pliers or vice grips.

If after you've followed these directions up to 3 times and still cannot get the flame to light, you may likely need a replacement thermocouple.

Careful here, doing this while you don't have time or are in a hurry can do catastrophic damage to lots of stuff, including your wallet.

Let me know how you get on won't ya?

Take some video if you can. Who knows, you might become famous, like me!

lol not.

I need to find a thermocouple for a mr heater

Why not take out your old thermocouple to a store that sells furnace parts for propane fired units?

The important thing is unit length and the right fastener and the rest should take care of itself right?

Good luck and be careful!

My mr. Heater lights only stays lit for about 3 minutes and then it goes out

I had this same problem with my heater. I cleaned the propane tube where the flame comes out (after it’s off and cooled down) with a Qtip and some alcohol. After removing some cotton, it will fit all the way down to the end of the tube. Repeat until it comes out clean and stays lit. I had to repeat with 91% rubbing alcohol and more Qtips, and most of the cotton removed.

Small Pilot flame on MrHeater MHBF20lpt & pilot won't stay on.

You will probably need to remove the pilot orifice and clean it out use a small needle or orifice cleaning rod. The pilot flame is not big enough to keep the thermocouple engaged.

Mr. Heater Big Maxx - Green light is off. I put in a new 3 amp fuse (even thought the original looked ok) and light is still off. Checked wires at connection and have good volts. Basically new unit.

With multimeter check l1 to ground on control board. Also check 24vac to ground to verify high and low voltage present at board.
