AEG T57800 Electric Dryer Questions & Answers
AEG Electrolux Lavatherm 57800: Push a program button, Machine starts for 3 - 5 seconds, Then stops and timer is on 0
Old question but let's help others. I fixed this same problem. Occasionally I could get the machine running, bou it would just turn for a few spins once every five minutes, and ended up with E50.
I cleaned the carbon contact behind the machine, under the plastic cover, and outside the drum on the top of the machine. And also all the contacts on the main PCB. Works again. And remember, this machine MUST be earthed, because otherwise the moisture sensor will not work.
E50 refers to a motor problem. This one doesn't have any carbon brushes, so just loosen the belt and check that the motor turns freely. The main PCB somehow monitors the motor load, and this is where those bad contacts come into questions. If cleanind them doesn't help, you probably have a faulty PCB. I use an old toothbrush and some good contact cleaner. And then finish the job with some protective spray.
Code fault E50
Need to put into self diagnostic mode and test the components. You can find the tech repair sheet in the machines that will tell you both what the error code is, how to test it, and how to replace it.
Dryer stops and Beeps with Error code E62
You machine needs to be entered to the diagnostic mode, so that you can test the components. But it appears the thermostat or control board is having an issue, and it could because there is lint built up.
E62 code on display
E62 - Power relay to heater unit faulty
Could be:
- Heater unit faulty.
- Wiring faulty.
- Electronic board faulty.
At this fault appliance forced cooling cycle.

Why is my dryer beeping and showing E60?
The last alarm code memorized can be displayed even if the appliance is in normal operating mode (e.g. while the drying programme is being performed):
- Press (start/pause) and first option button simultaneously for at least 5 seconds: the display shows the last alarm. The alarm sequence continues to flash as long as the two buttons are held down.
The appliance continues the cycle while the alarm codes are being displayed. If the appliance is in programme selection mode, the options previously selected are stored in memory.
E60 is family fault code but after reading last alarm you will see exactly fault code (E61; E62; E63)
E61 - Insufficient heating (maximum time exceeded)
- Heater unit faulty
- Wiring faulty
- NTC sensor incorrectly calibrated/out of position
- Electronic board faulty
E62 - Power reley to heater unit faulty
- Heater unit faulty
- Wiring faulty
- Electronic board faulty
E63 - Intervention of auto-reset thermostat on the heater unit
- Thermostat faulty (replace heater unit)
- Heater unit faulty
- Wiring faulty
- Electronic board faulty

Error e54
It sounds like the electronics that control the motor operations is faulty. It has various sensors and programmed programs on chip that controls the cycles.
You will have to book it in to your closest appliance repair center.
Aeg lavatherm t35850 does not heat
More foten than not teh element is blown or the diode pack on the element unit is blown. You can either have an applaiance repair centre replace the diodes or replace the whole element but the former will be a cheaper option.
Doesn't dry
Drying consists of removing moisture through heat and airflow. Check to make sure that your venting tube is not kinked somewhere and therefore not allowing the air to flow freely from the dryer.
How to connect electrical cord correctly which is
The machines are 220 VAC - the north american red black represents line one and line two - it makes no difference but one of the cord set wires is black and one is brown. Black to black and brown to red will keep the convention the same. green is always ground.
E50 fault
An imbalance during the spin cycle has occurred. It's possible that the appliance has been overloaded, or the load is causing the drum to be unbalanced.
If the machine has been used repeatedly in a row, which can cause the motor to be overloaded, leave it to cool down for approx. 30 min. and then try again.
If the problem continues to occur, there is a problem with the motor. This has to be repaired by a Service Engineer.
