How can i connect it
1) Any Pioneer site will give you the color codes for the head unit, in case you do not have the manual. As for the vehicle side of the wiring, this link should help: http://www.240edge.com/manuals/89-90_240sx/system_w.pdf

I have an iPhone that I would like to be able to
A couple of things might be happening: 1) Check that the miniplug tha you are using is STEREO (3 contacts), because otherwise, it will short the input. 2) Check that once plugged, you have the proper source selected in the pioneer headunit (AUX). 3) You will lose all of the iphone / ipod features unless you use the usb jack. I suggest that you buy the pioneer adapter to use these Apple devices.

WHEN I PLUG MY STEREO TO MY CAR AS SOON I PRESS
You have to check the radio harness and see if the connections are correct or if you have a grounding problem or some short. Check the face plate for any damage to the connectors were it meets the main deck were the radio face sits in.
Good luck.

What is the name of the plug and wire connections
Its called a harness. You have to get one that match your vehicles harness and since the wires are color coded, connections will be easy just remember if your spare wires are dimmer neg. and pos. dont wired them together, cover them with electric tape individually so it wont short the head unit.

How do i connect an aux cord to my head unit...
You can go to radio shack and grab a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable. make sure that is male -to - male. Some decks are equipped with an AUX IN in the front and some in the back and then some have both. This wire will resemble the same input end of an earphone plug. Once you have your device plugged in then just press the SRC button on your deck till it says AUX, AUX IN, or Audio. Let me know if this helps

I am getting an engine sound when in use with amp
you may have a bad ground to the rca's, try running a wire from ground to the rca shield. if it is a bad ground to the rcas, the noise should go away.if you are good at soldering, should be able to just solder a wire to the rca shield.
