I have a problem with my 27" Akai LCT2725 HDTV, flat panel.
Hello The problem here is that what it looks like is that you might have a power supply problem. I would suggest that you get a qualified TV tech to look at your system. and here is why, Your husband may be a good mechanic but he more than likely does not know about Tvs and the internal circuitry in them. Look at it this way, you have neurologists and you have cardiologists both are doctors, both are smart, but one works on the brain and the other on the heart. I think you get my point? My suggestion would be to get a TV tech to look at your system it might be as simple as a blown fuse of as complex as a overcurrent shutdown circiut.

AKAI 20 INCH lcd MODEL #LCT2060
This is an indication that one of the components in the screen control sections has a thermal instability problem. This canusually be found using a product called cool mist which is a component cooling spray. This lowers the compenent temperature and allows you to see which component has the problem. Also you may want to if you are able try to use a voltmenter and a schematic to trace the problem down once you know which component is giving you the problem.

Need Codes for Akai television using Stang F-2100 universal remote.
It is 2023, no one uses Universal Remotes these days!

Codes are to the television maker, they don't change depending on the make of remote used. But as I said, no one buys universals, you buy a copy remote made for the make model you have.

I have a pdp4298ed1 akai TV with a digital antenna screwed into the ant in. How do I scan for digital channel's?
To scan for digital channels on your Akai PDP4298ED1 TV, you can follow these steps:
- Press the "Menu" button on your TV remote.
- Use the arrow buttons to select the "Setup" menu and press "OK".
- Use the arrow buttons to select the "Installation" option and press "OK".
- Select "Automatic Search" or "Auto Scan" and press "OK". The TV will begin scanning for digital channels.
- Once the scan is complete, the TV should display a list of channels that it has found. You can then use the arrow buttons to select a channel and press "OK" to tune to it.
If the auto scan feature does not work, you may need to try a manual scan instead. To do this, follow the same steps as above but instead of selecting "Automatic Search", choose "Manual Search" and enter the frequency of the channel you want to tune to. You can find the frequency information for your local channels by doing a quick online search or checking with your local TV provider.

The reason you're not finding any bad caps is that's not the issue. If it was the set wouldn't power up then shut down, faulty caps don't cause issues like this. One thing that would have helped is the model number but I have a good idea what's causing your issue. When the set is powered on it goes through the boot log sequence, this is stored in the EEPROM that's located on the main board, chances are if you take a can of freeze spray and freeze the IC the set will power up as this IC isn't used once the set has powered on but it would only work one time but it's a way to confirm if this is the issue. If you have advanced solder skills you can order an IC and replace it for under 20 bucks, but it's not something easy to do without the skills or equipment, the other option is replacing the main board, however that may run more than it's worth so buying a new TV may make more sense
