Akai LCT2060 Television - Page 2 Questions & Answers
My akai lct 2060 power
Hi,
I would like to Share Few Details with you. This is a Common Problem with most of the TV's. Akai is Popular for it's Power Supply Problems. In my whole experience, i hardly seen a Cord being at Fault. If the Cord is Damaged / Cut / have signs of Damage, then it is worth ordering a Cord.
If you have a Multimeter, you could do a Continuity Test.If the electrical outlet has power and your power cord passes the
continuity test, then the fan is dead and the power supply must be Replaced / Repaired.
.According to me it is a power supply problem which is quite
common part as far as failures are concerned. IF you TV is under
warranty then you can get it checked and replace for free probably.
This
is basically due to lack of sufficient
power. This is basically due to capacitor failures or cold solder
problems. You probably have lose solders or broken solders due to the
move.
You need to Open the TV. Make sure it would be
Unplugged. You need to Take all the Precautions. Locate the Power Supply
Board. Remove the Connectors and Pull out the Board. Once you Pull out
the Board, with the Help of Magnifying Glass, locate Cold Solder Joint.
If Everything is OK, then you would Locate Bulged / Leaked / Swelled
Caps. They would have Ammonia kind of Odor. You need to De-Solder them.
You could take the same to Radio Shack / Fry's / Order Online. Once you
get the New Caps, Solder them and it is all set.You also need to Check
Fuses around that.
If the Problem Still Persists, get back to me
so that we would Troubleshoot other Components.
Let
me know, if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks
for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
I need the code for the lct2060 lcd tv.
I recently bought a used LCT2060 that had no remote. I figured my
comcast cable remote would work without a problem but it didn't. So 3
universal remotes later I found my solution...a
radio shack
universal gamer remote. It controls up to 5 components plus your
xbox360, playstation and pc. The price on sale was a mere 12.97, not bad
if you ask me. Hope this helped. The code that worked for the
Akai
was 11676. Take care...
No lights

it sounds like an rgb problem it depends what your playing thru your tv but if its coming thru a component lead eg red green and blue it sounds like your missing the red feature also it could be a pin bent on your scart which is carring the red portion of the picture , What kind of set is it and what are you playing thru it ?
I am using the tv as a computer monitor and I was
Hi Dbroker
If you are using a lcd tv with the 16:9 format as monitor then the 1280X768 is the best resolution to use.
But if your monitor/tv cannot accept this resolution then 1024X768 would be the optimal.
Hope this helps Goodbye
It wont turn on...........
It seems that your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur.
You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done.
I have an Akai lct
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. From what
you have described it seems the issue is with the power board or the main board
we’ll need to check few things. When you open the unit up; take a look at the
power board-the board where, the power cords/plugs goes into. You might see
some filter capacitors a little bulged up in the top-If this is the case-this
is your defective part(you can try to replace them-but some soldering equipment
is needed). If not, then probably the main board has gone bad. This is the other
board-where all he inputs are going into. Also check for the Backlight Inverter
Board if the sound is coming fine from the TV however as its shutting off so it
should be either the power board or the main board. All this is only
recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder
components. . Please do accept the solution if
the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Thanks

NO SOUND
If the tv is not set on mute, then you could possibly have a blown audio ouput. Usually caused by overheated and burnt out capacitor near the audio outputs. An ohmmeter can be used on the bottom of the board where the soder joints and then you can test the capacitors. Most are usually around 25-30 ohms.
A difuser and soldering iron will be needed to remove last little bit of stored power in the capacitor. Then solder it off.
Then you can go to tigerdirect.com and purchase a new one.
Or about $250 for replacement by shop.
