You want to check the power supply for bulged caps and replce if need. Also check and see if the VA & VS voltages are correct. There will be a label inside the inner panel, telling you what the VS and VA voltages should read. If they are OK, then you probably have a bad T-Con board, or a bad Y-board.
Tv will not come on and red light is flashing and
Tries unplug, replug tv back in like an hour later. Now the tv is resetting itself back to the factory setting. The tv should work now. Not,than the power supply board is the cause. That the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.That the power supply board.Try website like Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
The picture went out. Is it worth fixing or should
If the sound is still on then most likely the T-Con board has failed . A replacement board will cost you around $250 without labor (add $200 for that). If you can do it the replacement yourself it might be worth keeping - it depends on how much wear this tv had, if you can't then definitely it's time for a new one.
I have a akai pdp4295ed. turn power on and stay on
Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. A plasma TV is a very hard working device. It is
working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it
produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by
overheating problems. You'll need to check the power supply board first for any
swollen/bulged capacitors. As power supply board is the hardest working board
in a plasma TV, it develops voltage to supply all components, high current +
high voltage. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise
& know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high
voltages even when switched off. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post
a comment for further assistance.
Thanks

When turning it on, there
It's not adjustable. An electrolytic capacitor went bad.
You have to use coldspray to find the fault.
When the set is warmed up you spray on electrolytic capacitor's ( one at a time ) until the fault is vissable again. When found you repeat this again until you are sure you have the correct capacitor.
Replace the bad capacitor and the set wil work fine again.
With no picture but only sound on my Akai PDP 4294
Try replacing the Y-sustain board. Might have to replace buffers attached to it too. Have you had it diagnosed? My picture went out and I replaced the power supply board. Worked for 2 weeks then acted up again. Got a different power supply board. Same thing 2 weeks later. Was told it now was a bad Y-sustain board. Replaced y-sustain board. Worked OK for about 2 hours then started having picture issues. Not the same issues before power supply or y-sustain problem. Was told that you might have to replace buffers attached to y-sustain when you replace y-sustain. Tired of dealing with it and only watch a couple hours a day, so I don't always have the problem unless I watch the TV for a long time. Will eventually replace buffers to see if that works. I would definitely find a place that gives free estimates or close to free to get a technician diagnosis. Then you can decide if you are able to do the work yourself.
Where can i get buffer board for my videocon
I have tried looking up parts for TV's and they will not sell to consumers. You have to be a dealer to get a username to see that stuff. It will have to be a repair center.Sorry and good luck.

Having difficulty getting correct code for Sky
Hi,
There are are couple of help guieds for you to try.
First you need to know the revision (version) of your remote. Look for a sticker (either on the battery cover or in the battery
compartment), that includes
the text 'Sky rev' (or Sky+ rev or Sky HD rev), followed by a number,
such as 4, 6 or 8. This
number indicates the version of your Remote Control. More info
here.
Next,
click here to open the code look-up page. Key in your remotes version, and TV's make and model. Try the codes provided one by one.
Also
click here to open a pdf. Try the codes and method on the last page.
