Nikon d100 tok several pictures and they are not on card

It sounds like it may have reformatted itself and if thats the case, they are gone. Some camera's have the option built in, then again, your computer might have done it when plugged into the card reader. I hope this can help shed some light on what may have happened, but sorry to say, if the memory card is now empty, chances are slim on recovering the pics.

How to display my subject

The D100 does not have a Live View capability. The screen can be used for menus and image reviews, not previews.

Won't take picture

Remove the lens, clean the contacts, reattach the lens. Jiggle it a little to seat the contacts. If that doesn't help, either the lens or the camera needs service.

No idea what I did

You may want to make sure the contacts around the lens and mount on the camera are clean. Also, make sure the setting on the lens (if there is one) is not sitting just barely between manual and auto. Reset your settings to factory defaults and put all your dials on auto, and see if it still does it. If it does, then come back an update with any variations and experiences you've acquired from this.

Error code r 06

That's not an error. It's simply telling you how many more shots the buffer can hold before it has to slow down and flush the buffer to the memory card.

Is this somehow interfering with your picture-taking?

Con you fix filters to the lens of this camera

That depends on the lens. Most lenses have a filter thread on the front. Some have a thread on the back. A few take gel filters internally.

Won't stay in manual mode

Go to your menu settings and find the setting all to default, menu reset, or factory settings, or something like that. This will reset all settings back to the way it was from the factory or default. Then you can set what you want. Different modes will have an effect on your settings and can change according to what is set.
At this point it is a good idea to read your user manual or you can go to this link: Menu Reset Nikon D100 This camera has two banks of memory, remember that as well.

Do the Nikon D100 and the D70 share the same in

I understand what your're looking for.

The D100 is basically an N80 with digital guts. It doesn't share the same chassis as the D70, although it does share the same excellent battery.

Other than that, the D70 was a new design, so it doesn't seem too likely that they would have the same CF sockets.

That being said, unless I had them both stripped apart on the table in front of me, I wouldn't make any bets. It just seems like there would be slight differences in mounting holes and configuration.

Appears in focus in viewfinder, but isn't

Change your focusing setting to spot focus. Then, focus on your main subject, keep the button half-way pressed while you re-compose the shot and then press it the rest of the way. Does that improve the shot?

How do ai transfer fotos if my pc cant accept the

It should have a slot in the camera for a plug to connect it to a computer. Just check the shape of it for when you get one. It will most likely be a cable that looks like this:

http://www.faqs.org/photo-dict/photofiles/list/2869/3803camera_cable.jpg

Once you get the cable you can just go into my computer and the camera icon will be in there, go into it and copy the images to a folder on your computer

Do not seem to have it set up correctly, very slow

The D100 was the first SLR digital camera that Nikon made. In its day it was awesome, top of the line technology. Today, it's hard to even find them for sale because they are so old. I have a D100 and it is a great camera but you have to be patient with it - it is a grandfather now. It is slow. It is a fantastic camera and you can still shoot great action shots but you have to use a bit more planning then you would on a more new camera. Just be patient with it and treat it with care and it will produce images you will love and be proud of.
