Lens unit isnotworking disply
Hi
First check the strip cable that connect the lens unit and the main system board. This strip wire has carbon tracks as conductors. The strip wire has to tralvel along with the lens unit contnuously to track the disc; So it is very likly to get internal carbot track break in it disconnecting some of the connections between sens unit and main cable. Thei is a common faut seen with all the CD players and DVD playes for any company. Just replace it first, it can be bought from most of the electronic spare aprt shops at your town. It wont cost more. If this does not help you, repalce the Laser Pickup Unit. Note its number ,as it is very important when replacing it. It is one amoung the most critical part of your system. Its numbe ri more important to note. OK.
Need to know what channel to turn the tv to
HMMM. DVDs connect to Video, not channels.
Your direct TV will be connected to Video In.
I recommend connecting the DVD with Component or HDMI for best results.
You select the DVD with 'Video' or 'Source' on your TV remote.
No colour
Hopefully you've already sorted this problem out, but here's my answer.
If using component video connections, you need to be careful to connect all three plugs correctly at both ends, as well as the two audio channels. That's five RCA connectors at each end.
Sounds like you have only connected the Y signal between the TV and DVD, and have missed the other two (PbCb, PrCr) which carry the colour information.
DVD
Either a disk problem, or a player problem.
If you get the "no disk" message when using other disks(try originals if you were trying burnt), that aren't scratched, then it's possible that the lens needs cleaning.
open the player, locate the lens, and gently brush off any accumulated dust. If you see none, then it will take a more serious repair, possibly to the motor assembly, or the lens mechanism.
Good luck
Need Codes for Akai television using Stang F-2100 universal remote.
It is 2023, no one uses Universal Remotes these days!

Codes are to the television maker, they don't change depending on the make of remote used. But as I said, no one buys universals, you buy a copy remote made for the make model you have.

I have a pdp4298ed1 akai TV with a digital antenna screwed into the ant in. How do I scan for digital channel's?
To scan for digital channels on your Akai PDP4298ED1 TV, you can follow these steps:
- Press the "Menu" button on your TV remote.
- Use the arrow buttons to select the "Setup" menu and press "OK".
- Use the arrow buttons to select the "Installation" option and press "OK".
- Select "Automatic Search" or "Auto Scan" and press "OK". The TV will begin scanning for digital channels.
- Once the scan is complete, the TV should display a list of channels that it has found. You can then use the arrow buttons to select a channel and press "OK" to tune to it.
If the auto scan feature does not work, you may need to try a manual scan instead. To do this, follow the same steps as above but instead of selecting "Automatic Search", choose "Manual Search" and enter the frequency of the channel you want to tune to. You can find the frequency information for your local channels by doing a quick online search or checking with your local TV provider.
