Washing machine stopped filling up and an error 43

Hi just read your posting. Now Error code 43 means you have an OUT OF BALANCE SWITCH FAULT.The switch is located under the control module which is located under the top panel.Would you like me to guide you throe the testing and possible replacement of the Switch? The secondary source of this error code is your Motor Controller. But we must test the switch 1st as the switch is the most likely component that is faulty.Have you or can you borrow an electrical test meter to test the switch. It would make it easier to test the switch with the tester but there are ways around this. Please reply for further assistance and I am sure I can help you rectify this fault.Looking forward to your reply.

Washer fills and agitates but won't drain or spin

Hi just read your posting,Now it sounds like your pump is jammed or your diverter is stuck in the recirculate mode. When you advance the cycle to spin do you hear the pump pumping any water at all?If you don't hear any pump noise then the pump must be jammed.1st-- bail some of the water out of the machine with a small pot or bucket.Just enough to tip the machine against the back wall so you can look underneath it without the water leaking everywhere. Now when you look under your machine look to the front right and you will see your pump with a red or black fan attached to it.Turn this fan clockwise and then anticlockwise a few times to loosen the pump if it is jammed. The fan should turn freely. If you have loosened it put it back on its feet and turn on a spin cycle to see if it starts to drain. If it drains then it will spin .If it does not drain then please reply back and I can help you further. Also please reply back to tell me how you got on.Please turn the power off before you do this to your pump.Do not want any accidents.Good luck.

Code 37 -

Hi,

To my knowledge, Error Code 37 on a Fisher & Paykel machine refers to "drain fault" which could either mean that the drain valve will not open or that the drain pump will not run. The easiest user intervention that could be performed is to check for any blockage/clog at the drain filter, drain pipe, drain pump impeller and drain valve.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Intuitive washer code 43

Thx to fixya l sovled my code 43 by removing and cleaning my balance control switch. If anyone needs to know here step by step
1 Make sure the plug is out ( dont want curly hair do you )
2 Remove 2 screws from back of control panel and lift off
3 Remove 1 screw holding grey module panel
4 Under grey module on right hand side is the balance control switch with 1 white and 1 yellow set of wires
5 remove wires ( make note on where they plug back into )
6 2 small clips hold the switch in place, open them gently and pull switch out

Its that simple , clean the contacts with some wd40 or bicarb soda in hot water to get rid of any corrosion, make sure that the little button on the side springs out freely ( tiny drop of oil/wd40 ) clean or replace plugs on the white / yellow wires. install and do that washing!!! It worked for me but if the switch is too far gone no need for a service man just get a new one and go for it .

Good luck Pieman

My Fisher & Paykel intuitive

Hi - this is a strange one - I could be wrong here but I think that theres two likely possibilities for you - first is the motor controller board could be faulty - it may have a short on the switch ic for the drain pump - the other is there maybe an air lock or blockage to the pressure tube - remove the display panel to access the clear tube - unclip it & blow into towards the bowl to see if theres a blockage.

You say as soon as the start switch is pushed the pump runs continously? or does it come on as soon as the power button is pushed? either way I think the controller maybe faulty - haven't come across aything like this one before...

Cheers

During the spin cycle

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. Here we need to suspect the controller board as it seems to trip or hang up.

In this case it seems that the power trips when the program controller loads or encounters a load factor. So check the motor, the capacitor, the free movement of the drive shaft and all the connections to the control panel. finally check the main power outlet for loose connection in the plug / socket.

My washing machine Fisher&pykel/ intuitive eco

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven from the flow into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

I have the GWL15, it

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

You are correct, this is a pump blocked error and this what its service manual says about this error: While draining, the water level reading from the pressure sensor has not changed for over 30 seconds. There are three likely reasons for this fault. One is that the drain hose has been squashed or kinked and the pump out rate has been dramatically reduced. The second possibility is that the pump is partially or fully blocked. The third is that the pump is not operating due to Motor Controller Module, wiring or pump failure. This fault could also appear if the machine is pumping to an unusually high head of drain hose or into an extended length of drain hose.

Primary Source - Pump System.

Action

1) Check that the drain hose has not been kinked.

2) Check length of drain hose and try to reduce length if excessively long. A 39"(1 metre) extension hose of the same diameter fitted to the existing drain hose is the maximum allowable length.

3) If basket empty of water, remove the basket from the top and check that it is not blocked.

Also check the hose is not blocked.

4) If basket contains water, attempt to flick start the pump fan while draining to clear water before servicing as in 3. If unsuccessful then service pump from the top of the machine by removing the top deck and inner basket.

5) Check for open circuit windings in the pump. (Note: Pumps are fitted with a thermal cut-out, which will reset on cooling).

Secondary Source - Wiring.

Action

1) Check Pump Harness is connected correctly to pump.

2) Check continuity of pump harness.

Tertiary Source - Motor Controller Module.

Action

Activate Pump by operating the machine in spin mode. Check Pump is rotating. If not operating and Primary and Secondary checks have been performed then replace Motor Controller Module. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

How do I change the Pressure on my SleepStyle200

My P&P is a different model but I think in this matter they are the same. On one side of the machine, about 2/3 from the front, & on the bootom edge, there is a little removable panel about 2cms square. Remove this and you will see a plastic screw head, Turn this screw to the right to increase pressure. I would not advise you to adjust it willy nilly. I use a clear 5/16" PVC tube 3/4 filled with water. I found a few rubber bushes to seal one end of the tune into the water vessel. Before you start, hold both ends of the tube together in one hand forming a 'U' shape in the tube. Now using a marker, place a mark on each piece of tube corresponding to the water level. Being careful not to lose any of the water, attach one tube end to your machine. Sart your machine, press the ramp cancel button.& with a ruler, measure the distance between the levels of the water in both tubes. If the difference is say 8cms, then your pressure is now set at 8. As a long time sufferer, I offer two pieces of advice. 1 NEVER SLEEP ON YOUR BACK and 2. NEVER BREATHE THROUGH YOUR MOUTH. This is what I have to tell you after many hours and days of reserach. In fact, I tape over my mouth every night. I would be long gone by now if I didn't do this...I am 72

Intuitive ECO Model IW811 display

The fault codes 130 and 240 are pertaining to a Rotor Position Sensor problem. It is the part located wedged into the motor stator and it's sole function is the detection of motor functions particularly the rotor as the name suggests. The problem can be a simple loose wire harness or a damaged Rotor Position Sensor.

Unplug the machine. Tape the lid closed then lay the machine's front on a padded floor. Remove the single bolt holding the "plate-like" rotor to the shaft to access the Rotor Position Sensor. Once the rotor is off, check the contacts on the Rotor Position Sensor end of the wire harness to see if any have been damaged. Each set of contacts in the socket has two wipers. If the distance between these wipers varies between different contacts, replace the Rotor Position Sensor harness. Consider replacing the Rotor Position Sensor if no issue is found with the harness and the connectors.

It does not spin anymore.

Was there an eror code 37 or did it beep continously during this part of the cycle? - then yes its likely a replacement pump is necessary.

Anyway you seem to have kinda figured nout what is wrong with the machine - the problem is there are 2 types of pumps

Early models with the traditional agitator - pull away from wall & tilt backwards so its on about a 70-80 deg against wall - you will see the pump if an older model located on right side - a twist & locking mech to remove with a clip on and a earth wire to a push on terminal to pump frame.

The later model is a smart pump - a bit differrent but i think the above applies to your machine - if I knew the product code I can guide you the the correct procedure.

Gives a beep then says something about shutting

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(no promises but try this anyway!)
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

FIsher and paykel ecodrive 6.5

Hi - it would have been better if you posted the lights working or on when the machine is beeping, its not adviceable to bypass the out of balance, lid switch not so bad, these informations makes a lot of differrences with me giving you the actual answer to something which may or may not be useful to you.

UPLUG THE MACHINE FROM POWER SOURCE

Remove the 2 screws top rear corners, may have to remove door though - just pull it straight upwards - take all the wires off, note where you take it off from - 1 screw holding the motor controller down - remove controller - ok there in right is the out of balance - (beep tester if you got one) - switch will beep in normal - push lever under - it opens no beep.

I think you may as well check the lid switch if applicable twin wires runs under the top right side - beeps when door is closed.

Please let me know how you go.
