My AKAI 42 rear projection self focus set has blue shadows on everything and too much red, I cant seem to adjust it and self focus does not help?

Ck 3 low ohm resistors 2.7 ohms they will be on same board as ICs.

My recommendation is to call a local svc co. Since you heard a pop, it could be anywhere in the set. It requires trouble shooting to isolate where the problem is. I hope this is help-full for you.

hi, the input blocks are where you will need to look for this problem. sometimes these block connection become lose and detached from the main logic board. this could happen due to a minor crack in the solder or to much pressure when inserting cables and input rac jacks etc.. replacing or repairing this section of your TV's board will fix this issue.

it sounds like you have hit the zoom button or your aspect ratio isnt right. the aspect ratio should be set to 16:9 (if there isnt a button for aspect ratio, change it in the menu) and there should be a zoom button on your remote and just keep hitting that and it should return to normal. If neither works, post your tv brand and model and i'll try to find another answer

adjust the convergence..........push mute 1 8 3.....and it will take you into it. pnce in 2 will change the adjust mode, and 7 8 9 change color options

Do not panic! Do not throw your TV away like I wanted to! Here is whatmay be the solution for most of the members who have posted theircomplaints here recently. I am not an expert, but I followed all blogsfrom various websites and forums, and the conclusion was the same;replace the convergence board for this model. I purchased it fromwww.partstore.com and since this Akai is the same model as the SamsungModel # HCN4226WX/XAA, buy the Samsung BP95-00142E Convergence boardfor $77. It came to about $85 after shipping. The Convergence board hastwo black STK ICs and two colors of wires, a gray kind and a bluekind, all which have 'pins' and can easily be unplugged from thecircuit board in the TV. It is basically a complete system that takesless than 30 minutes to install. It is a simple swap procedure, with nosoldering. You only need the new board and a screwdriver! Remove thelower back board of your TV where the cables are plugged in (do notunscrew all the screws for the screen, as it is unnecessary, and mightjust damage your screen if you are not careful.) It has a u-like shapeand comes off easy. Detach the gray wires connecting your old board tothe rest of the circuitry, and detach the blue wires connecting the oldboard to the circuitry. On the old board, there are connectors marked,from left, blue, green and red. Detach those from the old board, andmark the wires so that you may connect the correct the wires to the newboard. You then unscrew the only screw connecting the board to the TV,and unhook the board from the TV. Hook the new board to the hooks whichheld the old board, and screw the lone screw to the board. Plug thegray cables from the new board to the connectors where the gray cablesfrom the old board were,and do so for the blue cables. Connect themulticolored cables to the blue, green and red, just as was done on theold board. Reattach the cover and test the TV. Please do not replacethe two STK ICs only. When I removed my old board, I realized thatthere was a burn mark, where the ICs were, but maybe it was a fuse. Youmay replace the ICs only to discover that it was another problem. Goodluck, and I wish you all the best in the repairs. I just saved about$100 for a repairman just to show up

i only gave you the info I had on hand I dont have the tech manual, you might find one on line for proper setings in this tech mode.

it puts you into convergence mode and clears out all bad magic foces data.
then run perfect focus to save new data.

There is a interlace setting if this is set to high it gives that red smudged look please check for that setting in the menu

its the problem of ic on the main board..ic needs to be replaced.not much expensive.

It is a Drug that onced you are addicted to it you cant live without it! You are willing to do anything to watch your shows and when it needs repairs you want it Fixed by Yesterday!

If it is a fuse with no reading replace it ,What is the location number of part?For example F54 or does it have c45 or R66 ect..... You can E-mail me at [email protected]

You could have some opened resistors low ohms that are bad go back and ck them around convergence ics.

After replacing ics did you ck for opened resistors low ohms 1.5ohms etc...You must get print out of How To Enter Service Menu for convergence it will tell you which numbers control which colors to move up and down to complete alinement for convergences. You must have your hand unit the one that came with set It has all the controls you need to be able to enter service menu!I will check to see if i have How to enter service menu.for this set.
