Make sure it's plugged in correctly, then go into Disk Management and make sure you can see/format the drive. A lot of times the disk needs to be initialized before you're able to use it.

My T3104 came with a cd burner. I upgraded it to a

If they were both working on separate machines, the answer must lie in how you have configured them on your PC. Remember that your dvd/or cd drive would be the SECONDARY MASTER. If you have both cd drive and dvd drive set as master, this may cause your PC to not recognise them. Look on the back of the cd drive and the dvd drive - at the small jumper switches, which fit onto pins. There will also be a diagram on the drive somewhere. Look for CSM C= cable select (let the computer choose which is which. M= Master, which means you set that particular drive as the secondary master. S- slave. You set whichever drive as the slave. The drive on the end of the cable (furthest away from the motherboard) should be set as MASTER. Any other drive on that same cable should be set as slave.

Hi i recently installed windows

Ok, you need to install your audio driver which you can search here:

http://support.gateway.com/us/en/emac/product/category.aspx

You did not specify what is the model of your e-machine so just search it there.

Choose if it is a netbook, notebook or desktop... then choose which model (series) then choose the model number..

After that click on the "Drivers" tab and choose to download "Audio"

Thanks for using Fixya! Don't forget to rate =)

I show on monitor

Check that the "data" cable between your computer and your monitor is tightly connected at each end.

Connect the VGA-output port from a laptop computer to the monitor, to see if the monitor works when connected to a different computer.

Connect a different monitor to the VGA-output port on your computer, to see if that monitor works.

Failing all the above, the video-card on your computer is the problem, and needs to be replaced.
