Have a T5026. There was a problem with the power

Make sure that you have the monitor plugged into your video card if you have one (usually a horizontal port), and not your motherboard(usually a vertical port).
If it's not a plug issue, then if you press F8 repeatedly while the computer is starting, Windows will give you a boot menu, select the option "Enable VGA Mode" and windows will revert the resolution to a more common one, and will allow you to reset the resolution to one that your video processor can handle.

How do i take the top cover off a emachines t5026?

Hello cw robin, hi, you need to remove the power supply out of the casing. loosen the side cover screw at the back left side. side of, reveals the power supply box, Now remove the 4 screw on the Fan exhaust side. There is a release lever on the bottom of the power supply like a ball shape lock, press it and it releases the power supply box. remove the connections on the motherboards and drives. Power supply out, there are small screw on the power supply box, remove it. open and you have now access to the power supply board.

I have a T5026 EMachine won't power up. Green

to see if the power swithc is the problem-

first, try to isolate the wire that connects the power switch to the motherboard. once you have deternined where the power switch plugs, then remove the wires from the motherboard leads and try to short the leads by connecting them with a metal device like a screwdriver tip. if the switch is broken, it will boot when shorted with the screwdriver. if it still will not boot, then you probably need either a new motherboard or a new cpu.

I have an emachine T5026

The answer is no, one slot doesn't support more than 1GB ram. You cannot install more than 1GB of Ram per slot. If you are upgrading your ram to 4GB, you have to buy four 1GB rams. If you haven't purchased, go for 1GB not 2GB.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

There can be two problems with your PC. either the power supply is faulty which is highly probable, and the other is that your Motherboard maybe faulty or both things are faulty. Try replacing the Power supply first. It should solve your problem.

I have no owners manual is there one i can download for free for

There is no need for a "owners manual" for a power-supply. The only printed paper is the manufacturer's standard "disclaimer" and "warranty" documents.

Power Supply Problem

Hi, I came acroos a similar problem on an older model of emachine. If I remember it right what I did was to update the chipset and agp and other drivers (especially the lan card). The T5026 uses Intel 915GV. Most of what you probably would need can be found at http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Support_Intel.aspx?lang=eng. Most of the updates are chipset and OS specific. Good luck and please let me know how this works out for your. Cheers.

Your Power supply is most likely dead.

A power strip is not sufficient protection against black outs, brown outs, power surges and other electrical interruptions that occur in the house. Many PC components are very sensitive to fluctuations in power and power supplies often are among the first casualties when a serious problem occurs.

To protect yourself against these common power issues you should invest in an Uninterruptible Power Supply or UPS. A UPS is basically a battery backup that will provide power when brown-outs or black-outs occur and will protect the delicate electronics in your PC. You can purchase them at most stores that sell computers and components.
