You can't really. You can look for an Android upgrade for it (usually the later versions are a little faster) and delete apps that you no longer use. If apps over a wifi connection are slow then you can try checking your wifi connection for interference and maybe change some of the settings. Otherwise a lot of it really depends on the specific app your trying to run that's "too slow". Maybe look for a users forum for that app and see if other users have any performance improvement tips?
