These are generic RCA Universal Remote codes to control an Electrohome TV: 006, 011, 014, 027, 038, 061, 068.

Your specific model will have other additional codes. If these codes don't work, you could try re-posting with more information.

Many RCA universal remotes have a CODE SEARCH button. If yours does, here are the steps to search for the proper Electrohome TV control codes:

1. Manually turn ON your TV.
2. Press and hold CODE SEARCH.
3. Press and release the TV button.
   
4. Release CODE SEARCH.
5. Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the TV turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second).
6. Once the TV turns off, press and release ENTER.

Philips Universal Remote SRU4208WM/17 works with this TV. You must use the learning feature.

The only way I could get it to work is use Philips Universal remote SRU4208WM/17. You must use the learning code.

If you contact DirecTV they will give you every RCA remote code they have for RCA. They can also telll you how to have the remote scan for every code that is stored in the remote you have. However, if your remote still won't control your TV, unfortunately there won't be anything you can do except use two remotes; one for the TV's power and volume; and the DirecTV remote for channels, guides, and everything else. Call DirecTV and choose tech support.

You have a bad IR sensor. The electrolytic capacitor or diode on the board is shot. Replace with a new sensor, part # 313926859182

If you're not gun shy, you can perform this repair yourself and save some money. You need a power drill with star/octagon bits, screwdriver and your new sensor.

The IR board is located in bottom left hand corner, if you are facing the back of the set.

Did you try all the codes listed. Some work certain functions such as power but not volume. Did the installer leave a phone number where he could be reached other than directv toll free number? Did you receive the same remote as the original. Directv has two remote that are identical in appearance but one is rf capable and the other is infared. The RF remote has backlit keys and is compatible with just about any device.

Every type of universal remote are programed differently. What you need to do is find the programming guide for the remote and follow the directions or try going to the manufactures website.
