Where are the trim controls set?
Those mics use both phantom and battery power; are the mic switches set to phantom?

In my xvamp, a strucked microbutton caused E2. I've replaced the button, and everything went right :D

The hardest part will be disassembling the mixer. You must remove the side panels and the bottom (four screws each), all the knobs (50 of them), undo the nuts on the various 1/4" jacks (14), then finally remove the screws mounting the single circuit board (13). The power jack can be unsoldered and the leads from the power module can be solder to the same pads.
The power module is simply a center tapped transformer. There will be three wires corresponding to the three pins on the connector. The center tap has to be correct, but the other two are interchangeable.
Just remember to thread the cord through the hole in the chassis BEFORE you solder the wires down. And provide some form of strain relief so that pulling on the cord doesn't stress the circuit board.
