Nikon D70 Digital Camera with 18-70mm Lens Questions & Answers
0x80070057 parameter is incorrect
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

How do I get a wireless remote to work? I have
Assuming you're referring to the ML-L3 remote, you need to set the camera's shooting model to one of the two remote modes. The quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. The delayed remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the shutter.
To change the camera's shooting mode, press the shooting mode button (overlapping rectangles) and turn the main command dial (on the back of the camera). The quick-response remote mode is indicated by a picture of the remote. The delayed remote mode is indicated by the remote and a one-handed clock.
The remote needs to be pointed in the general direction of the receiver on the front of the camera, above the "D70" nameplate.

Everytime i connect my nikon d70 to my laptop,
You can try downloading the camera drivers directly from Nikon's website then see if the computer recognizes the camera, if not you will need to use a different computer to avoid a card reader.

Hi
My Nikon D70 only now
This is a 2004 camera model. Even if it was a known problem, Nikon would have fixed them out of warranty for free for only a limited period of time. You've gone way past that time. If you still want it fixed, get an estimate from Nikon and search the internet for other service centers that repair Nikons and get their estimates too. Then, make your decision.

Flashing chr and tried everything
questions as bare as this are less likely to be answered because they contain no information of value to the reader to assist you in solving the problem.
?chr? charger? chair? character? ( abbreviation)
If the unit is on charge flashes but does not charge, suspect a faulty charge system circuit or a dead battery unit that needs to be replaced.

Nikon D70 with brand new Sandik ultra11 2gb flash card error CHR
Go to the Nikon site and upgrade the firmware on your D70 to version 2.0.
Before doing that, try turning the camera off, wait a min, then back on. That sometimes clears the error. The D70 is having trouble reading the card(s) you're putting in. The upgrade fixes that.

Images are on the memory card but I can't even download them
Hello Irredessence,
I know how it feels when you loose your expensive memories.. :(
However there is still a small hope; there are softwares available that can recover deleted/corrupted files back... I googled for "memory card data recovery software" and there were bunch of them.. choose the one that suits you.. you should find few good sharewares too.
All the best and let me know if you were able to recover any.
Thanks and Regards,
Srinivas
