JBL CREATURE II Computer Speakers - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Speaker problem
Don't know if you've solved this yet but just in case ...
There is nothing to install with loudspeakers - they are independent devices and have nothing to do with your computer.
Check the little lights. There should be one on the back of the subwoofer (by the power switch) and one underneath each of the satellites. If you haven't got the lights under the satellites then you probably have a faulty subwoofer. Check thought that your connections are solid. Remember the two satellites' connectors are keyed and may not be fully home, rotate them slightly until they click completely in.
Theses are excellent speakers and should be deafeningly loud.
Bass knob not working
you need to have the variable resistor, which is the Bass control replaced. It's defective.
JBL CREATURE SPEAKERS
Hi there ! Sure, it's possible to connect such speakers on a tv. Usually, you're gonna have an RCA (white + red) audio outputs on the back of the tv in the A/V connections. That's the one you want to use ! That connection may, or may not be variable, and usually has a configurable behavior through the TV's menu, in the audio submenu. You wanna look for 'Audio Out' or similar.
The speakers probably have a 1/8 of an inch mini stereo connection, which is meant to be connected on a PC sound card.
You only need a RCA to 1/8 Mini Stereo adapter, which can be found at a dollar store, radio shack, best buy or any electronics store you got close for 2-5$.
Hope that helps ! cheebster.
Fixing power supply
Hello, sorry for late reply. See last post:
"The power supply casing needs to be prised apart with a flat bladed screwdriver or similar. Takes a bit of doing - might even need a bit of of a hammer."
You have to slightly damage the casing to prise the two halves apart and it won't go back together properly - needs must!
In any case, replacing the fuse doesn't solve the problem as they keep blowing. There is a fault somewhere causing this to happen and that's where I'm stuck.
Anyone else??
JBL Creature 2 Blowing Fuse
There will be a short somewhere in the power supply. If you replace the fuse it will blow again. You COULD try a larger ampage fuse, but any electrician would not recommend this!
Power supply
there is an internal fuse in the power supply adapter but you have to cut the box open to get to it.did this myself replaced the fuse and it now works fine
Europe-to-usa power supply problem?
Hello Sarah, I brought mine in Europe too and found out that they are rated for 220 VAC while in the US you will need a 110 VAC power adapter so if this is your case you need to buy a replacement.
