Hey, Names Dom (Dj Domo) i Spin on the Denon

if it doesn't spin, the motor spindle contacts are broken, and you'll need to replace the motor, and possibly the whole optical pickup (lens and motor assembly. you might be able to get one from mcm electronics on line, but you'll have to put it in yourself if you don't know anyone who can. you could always contact denon and they'll find the closest service center to you. good luck.

My dns1000 will accept cd's fine but will not

A couple things may be preventing the cd from ejecting. The tracks for the door may be dirty, or the belt inside may be slipping. The only real solution is to take it apart and eject a cd watching the gears and the belt to see what is preventing the cd from comming out all the way. It may be best to take it to a service center if you are not comfortable with this type of repair. If it is a belt or slipping gear, it will not be more than a $25.00 repair on average. That is what we would charge in our shop. I hope this helps.

Cd player flopped @ a party

This is a normal problem with these players. Trust me I own two of them. There is an overheating problem with them. they usually oveerheat after about 3 hours. I usually just throw on a long mix and let the other player cool off. Check the unoffical Denon forums and you will see that this has been a problem for years.

CDs get scratched when instered/ejected in the players

Sounds like something inside the deck is out of place, and is scratching the cd. Please bring your decks to an authorized service center to be checked out.

HI HOW DO YOU CLEAN THE DENON DN-S5000

Let me start out by saying what not to use: Don't use the cleaning CDs that you can buy. Most of those have tiny brushes on them that could scratch the optics inside your CD player and make things worse. Your Denon CD player and similar pro grade DJ CD decks are a higher precision player than the average consumer CD player that those things are marketed towards.

Your solutions are these:

  1. Find a vacuum cleaner with decent suction and use the hose attachment remove any dust or other debris that may be lodged inside the player by running the hose around the entire player (you'd be surprised where dust can lodge (and from where it can be dislodged).
  2. You can use canned air... but two caveats: Canned air doesn't necessarily move the debris and occasionally when spraying it, you get bursts of moisture with the air. Obviously moisture inside your playe would be a bad thing.
  3. Take your player to a reputable electronics repair facility and have it professionally cleaned and the optics adjusted.

I keep a microfibre cloth with me in the DJ booth and look at every CD before I put it inside my players (I have DN-S3500s) and if there's any grime, I use the cloth to remove it.
