Most likely that cheap amp put out nowhere beer the power that Sub would need find out its max RMS Value and wire according to amp Ohm rating for that Ohm Setting for instance my amp is 2000 watts at 1 ohm . 970 watts at 2 ohms and 650 watts at 4 ohms

Now my sub is 1500 watts and Duel 2 ohm voice coils so I can wire the sub at 1 ohm or 4 ohms obviously not gonna wire at 4 so after I wire positive to positive neg to Neg on sub then the positive from amp to positive of one coil and Neg to opposite Coils neg we have this bad boy wired to 1 ohm final witch is max ohm for amp just don't go crazy with gain it's not a Volume control and you will just burn up equipment set everything make sure your not distorting and clipping or underpowering with a amp no where neer the RMS it needs and never buy anything that says Max Power on anything if it don't post RMS it's never gonna come close don't waste your money
