How to make the orange light go off

The Main reason why it comes on is the water is empty. Beyond that.. try cleaning your machine. Also, I have two of these thing and I have yet to get it to work more than five minutes on high. Low.. it works all day long.

Humidifier won't turn on

Not much. You can check to see if your house fuse has blown to your outlet which you plug the device into. You can try cleaning the element with vinegar, allowing it to break off any white residue. You can't reset it if you have an inactive reset light. If it happened to be under warranty, now would be a good time to make use of that. These units seem to require daily cleaning. Whether or not that is a factor in it being inoperative, I can't say. I am including a link to its user manual but a quick look at the troubleshooting in the guide is not particularly helpful in this instance. There is a way to somewhat disassemble it to get gunk out but I cannot say that is at the root of the problem. Vicks V745A Use And Care Manual Troubleshooting Limited Warranty

Hi, We just purchased a vicks

is it possible that you have the mist turned up too high? If the room is very small, the high setting could be providing too much humidity to the room. I'm thinking that the paint crackled as the humidity climbed.

Filled Watertank; water will not go open valve

It may be clogged with mineral scale. Empty the water that you now have in the tank and refill it with a 50/50 solution of White Vinegar and Bottled Distilled Water. Let it soak for several hours and then turn the unit ON. If it starts working as it should. let it run another 5 minutes, turn it OF and empty the tank. Refill the tank with Bottled Distilled Water and allow it to run at least 45 minutes to flush the system. After that, if you do not detect any vinegar odor, you can continue to use the remaining Distilled water.

If the unit didn't work as it should have after several hours of soaking. Turn the unit OFF and let it soak overnight. If this solved the problem, I would recommend that you continue to use Bottled Distilled Water for normal operation, rather than tap water.

Hope this helped solve the problem

Where can i get a new water tank cap for vicks model V745A?

This is a POSSIBLE answer: I found the manual at the Vicks site, read through it, but it did not mention replacement parts at all. However, at the very end of the manual was this paragraph, which might serve as a way for you to get what you need. Quoting the manual: If you have any questions or comments, call the Kaz Consumer Service Department at 1-800-VAPOR-1-2 or, e-mail [email protected] or, write to Kaz, Consumer Service Department, P.O. Box 544, Hudson, NY 12534, explaining just how the product is operating. Specify model number. Our Consumer Service Representative will advise you how to correct the problem yourself, or will ask you to return the product for repair or replacement.

No steam is coming out?

Try salt in the water, booklet in mine recomends salt to create steam, but don't add too much or you'll end up with a mini giser!!!Hope this helps, if not, it's possible that the heating element is bad. Try the salt, then turn on for 1/2 hour or so, remove the cartridge from the water resivore and slowly stick a finger in to see if the water is hot or cold...

Can't remove all that scale

Mix a 50/50 solution of White Vinegar and Bottled Distilled Water (enough to fill the tank). Pour the solution in and let it sit for 30 minutes, Then start the humidifier and let it run until almost all of the solution has been used. Turn the unit OFF, empty the remaining solution and fill the tank with Bottles Distilled Water. Turn the unit ON and run for 30 minutes. This will flush out any of the remaining solution. The remaining water should be disposed of and in the future, use Bottled Distilled Water, rather than tap water. That way you will not have to worry about calcium and mineral build up at all. Plus, the mist that's generated will be totally void of any harmful minerals.

Hope this helped you solve the cleaning issue. Please let me know. Thanks!

It has stopped working. How do I clean it. Can the

Best way to clean it is with vinegar, it will break up the mineral deposits I'm sure the element has on it. If it is like mine the element is covered in white scale, and has stopped working. May not be worth the effort though, my element is now completely clean but the unit still auto-shuts off after about 5 min.

I turn the humidifier on l or ll. The light is

The humidifier may be clogged with a calcium scale build up. Especially, if you use well water or your municipal water supply has a high chemical content.

To solve this problem do the following. Mix a 50/50 solution of White Vinegar and Bottled Distilled Water (enough to fill the tank). Empty any water that is currently in the tank and fill it with the 50/50 solution. Allow at least one hour, before turning the unit ON. After turning it ON place you hand in front of the mist nozzle to see if any mist is being generated. If it's generating mist, allow it to run until the tank is 3/4's empty. Then turn the unit OFF, unplug it and empty the remaining solution. Refill with Bottled Distilled Water and run until the tank is empty.

If the unit did not produce mist after one hour of soaking, allow it to set over night and then follow the procedure above. Generally, an overnight soaking will do the trick. In the future, I recommend using Bottle Distilled Water rather than your tap water.

Hope this helps you solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I bought the humidifier and my daughter switched

Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 10 minutes. Plug the unit back in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and if the unit reset itself like it should have, it should function properly.

Hope this helped to solve the problem. Please let me know. And Happy upcoming Mother's Day!

My Vick's Warm Mist V74A

The simplest and easiest way to clean the interior workings of the unit is to fill the tank with a 50/50 solution of White Vinegar and Bottled Distilled Water. Run the unit for an hour. Turn it OFF for 30 minutes and the run it again, until the tank is almost empty and turn the unit OFF. Empty the remaining solution and refill the tank with Bottled Distilled Water. Turn the unit ON and operate it for at least 45 minutes to an hour. This will flush out all of the remaining solution.

What you saw before before cleaning the unit, was a build up of mineral deposits and scale from the tap water that you used. In the future, I would highly recommend that you use Bottle Distilled Water, rather than tap water. That way, you won't have to flush the unit as often and you'll be using water that is mineral free.

Hope this helps you solve the scale and mineral deposit problem. Please don't forget the rate my response to you. Thanks!

If you still have your Owner's Manual or Guide, it should tell you where and how to order replacement parts. Or it should have a Customer Service telephone number you can call.

The vaporizor is plugged in.

Turn it off for a few minutes then turn it back on. If it it works for a short time then turns orange again you need to clean the heating element. It will have a brown crust that builds up over time.
