I think you are now able to get a dual plug in for the jack now! Look into that. You are able to plug 2 phones into the same jack!

Had the same issue with my WTM652, and after pressing what is usually the factory reset button with a paperclip several times, I came to the conclusion that that wouldn't work.So what you have to do is take out the battery the panel is on the bottom, it should just pull outThen press and hold the Router Reset button for approx. 20 seconds, not the button that is in the recessed hole, that won't do anything, the one that you can hold in with your fingerAfter 20 seconds release, none of the lights go out except WLAN/SECURE/ and TELEPHONE1 possibly telephone 2 however I do not have 2 linesThen try to log in to the router/modem and the password should have defaulted back to blank

on an arris modem, if the telephone light is solid, then there is dial tone coming into the modem. that means the problem is somewhere in the house wiring. check to make sure the phone line is plugged into line 1 on the back of the modem. next make sure it is plugged into the wall jack. if this is correct then you need the cable co to come out and troubleshoot your inside wiring. as a quick fix, you can plug your phone into the jack on the back of the modem labled line 1/2
