Hi, The first thing to check for is corrosion of the battery terminals. They can become dirty with battery acid that leaks out over a period of extended disuse. ( having remote sit unused for even a few months may cause this. You can visually check for the corrosion-the battery terminal/s will have a whitish or greenish substance on it/them. A paring knife may be used to scrape the terminals clean, if one of the contaminated terminals happens to be a spring maybe a piece of sandpaper. The corrosion is not as bad as what happens on a car battery-that is it will not immediately eat away at stuff-I do recommend using a napkin to keep the leaked electrolyte off your skin and clothes. Another thing that may cause the remote to quit is if something was spilled on the front of the remote ( unfortunately it doesn't take much and any substance will do it). The Key pad of the remote actually has what are called " FILM RESISTORS " that are on the back of each button of the remote. And any foreign substance can interrupt contact with the circuit board. This can be remedied bay taking the remote apart and cleaning the contacts on the circuit board an the backs of the keypad buttons. To do this there will be screws holding it together, more than likely two to four. They may be located inside the battery compartment. Once screws are removed gentle prying should cause case to snap open, then it's a matter of removing the circuit board-using rubbing alcohol to clean backs of buttons and the contacts on the circuit board,reassembling and hopefully you're back in business. It was pretty tricky without instructions but trial & error brought me to a successful resolution. This machine comes from the factory set to connect directly to a television with supplied RCA cable. Do that before you connect to a VGA monitor. Using the remote control, press setup and then go into "preferences" and look around for "video" and then to "VGA". Once you click "VGA" the TV screen goes frighteningly blank. The next obvious step is to hook it to the VGA cable and VGA monitor. If your computer is also hooked up and on to the monitor there is no karaoke picture. Shut off or disconnect computer and presto, there it is. <br>

Are you using the charging cables that came with it? That is a type C. Are you securely attaching the charging cable? A loose connection would keep the battery from charging. If you had a low battery, you would see a red light. That you have no light at all suggests there is no charge left in the battery. I'm not sure the reset will work with no charge which is why you ought to check the cables first. But turn it off and then hold down the Multifunction button for 10 seconds to reset it. Then turn it back on and see what happens. If you can, test the charging cable on aother device. If you have another type C charging cable, try it, just to eliminate a bad cable.
