Hoover washing machine (se230).. after washing,

Time to check the water pump action and it's associated hoses. Look for kinked or collapsed hoses and check that the drain from the tub to the pump will pass water. If the pump doesn't run, check for power to it when it is supposed to be running, and verify that it is free to turn. There may be something jamming the impeller.

I have a Hoover 550 MB Top Loader washing machine

Will the unit spin if you manually turn the timer dial to spin? If so, remove power, remove the clock motor from the timer, and inspect the clock and mating timer gearing for debris or damaged gear teeth. At the worst, replace the timer. You may be able to scrape or file the damaged teeth so that the timer will progress.

Water wont go out of my top loader

Check the drain line for kinks or obstructions. Check the pump. Remove the hoses from the pump and use a flashlight to look into the suction port. Make sure nothing is clogging the pump, like the occasional stray piece of clothing, and check the pump impeller. Make sure there are no broken or missing blades and that the impeller will spin freely. If any blades are broken/missing or if you can't get the impeller to spin freely, the pump is defective. Hopefully it's just a clogged drain line, pump, or jammed impeller. Really sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Hoover 600mb doesn't spin

Valve blocked in rear of drum. Switch off power supply before cleaning. If the problem still occurs it could possibly be the brushes in the motor. both jobs are simple and very cheap to repair

How to clean the inside of the machine

Go to the store and buy a bottle of CLR. Run a few cycles of it (without the clothes in there, of course!). Make sure you run a few cycles of just straight water before you attempt to wash clothes. That should do it. I've also heard of people using powdered lemonade to clean the inside of dishwashers, too. Maybe try the powdered lemonade first if you're squeamish about damaging something.

After the final spin cycle, my clothes are still wet.

Check these out:
  • If your washer spins but does not pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many washers a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that is attached to the pump or even into the pump itself. It it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out.
  • To remove the item from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Using a needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the stuck item through the port.
  • Check your washer for a frozen pulley. Remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely, it's frozen, replace it.
  • If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back after the spin cycle, your washer is siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain back into the washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub.
  • Also check for these problems:
  1. If the drain hose reaches more than 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut the excess.
  2. If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

Blocked filters/dodgy pump?

The problem you are having could simply be the inlet valve.

The inlet hose is attached to the inlet valve on the machine. Where it screws on that is.

You can get a valve from an appliance parts shop and they are inexpensive.

Problem with Hoover 200M

Hi All
The solution is a faulty solenoid valve, either the hot or cold valve depending what temperature you are using.
Replacing the valve is easy turnoff machine unscrew hose, remove 3 srcews to lift control cover, slide out locking tab, unclip wires the replace valve which cost about 30-$40

My old Hoover top loader Washer is noisy & doesn't spin out properly - how can I fix it?

Sounds like the switch which cuts the machine off when the load is unbalanced. My guess is that: This switch is being triggered too easily The springs holding the bowl up are either stretched or one is broken; The machine may not be level.

Hoover Premier 706

I have the same washer and the paint started to flake from the bottom of the bowl. Rust under the baked enamel made it lift. I peeled the loose paint then applied rust converter and a zinc paint. This patch is still ok after 12 months but my wife is complaining about paint flakes and rust on some clothes. In my opinion, the only way to remove the agitator is to undo the nuts retaining the shaft from the inside. I guess I will find patches of rust under the agitator and depending on how big and deep they are will determine if I replace the machine or patch the rust.

Hoover washing machine 200m, making the worst sound ever...

never continue to use a machine that makes any noise it shouldn't you can only make matters worse and could do severe damage that can't be repaired, sound like something in the drum or something loose outside the drum, like suspension etc based on the info given i would just say ask an engineer to have a quick listen, many do a free estimate

Frieght train noise through the house

Sounds like the drum bearings have gone. Replacement in the uk would cost aroung £130 as it is very labour intensive.
Would not recommend it on a 6yr old machine as other problems may not be too far off.
Hope this helps & thankyou for using Fixya.
