R09 shows up when I try to take a picture. Cannot access preview screen. Camera seems frozen.

R09 or R07 etc. is not an error message. In Nikon lingo ERR is the one you need to worry about. The RXX refers to the approximate amount of shots left in the buffer in the camera. Not a ptoblem. You may be trying to take pictures faster than your memory card / camera buffer can handle.

You can try a fster card like 266, but you may find that the camera is also your limitattion.

If you make no changes at all, the camera buffer will eventually clear and you can again takes pictures.

Www fixya com support

Search the web for a free program called Recuva. Download and install it on your computer. Plug your SD card into a card reader and connect it to a USB port on your computer. Run Recuva and follow the instructions to recovered the deleted pictures from the SD card. This will only work if the card has NOT been used since the pictures were deleted. If the card has been used, the deleted files may have been overwritten and they are gone. I've used Recuva to find and recover pictures that I have deleted from my recycle bin when I emptied it. Try to download the program from the Recuva site since many of the download sites now try to slip stuff you won't want into their downloads. Be careful to uncheck any boxes that attempt to add automatically things like toolbars, search engines and other unwanted programs.

Err message

The Nikon D-90 users manual says on page 256 that the ERR message indicates a camera malfunction and that it can be cleared by releasing the shutter. I've found on my D-90 that the only way I can get the shutter to release is my turning the camera off. When I turn it back on the ERR message is gone and the camera functions as it should. Occasionally, I have had to remove and reinstall the battery to make the camera turn off but this happens only rarely. The users manual says if the condition occurs frequently or persists that you should contact a Nikon authorized repair center. I suggest that you contact Nikon tech support at www.nikon.com to see what they suggest. I think this information would apply to the D-80 as well.

Nikon d70 wrtiting to memory

This is not something you will be able to fix yourself. Go to Nikon USA's website for the location of the nearest repair depot and phone them. They can give you an idea of the cost.

Cannot transfer photos to computer, nikon l 6. will not read camera or memory card with cp or reader, software is installed,cp is xp

The short term solution is to take the SD memory card out of the camera and download it to the computer using an inexpensive card reader or, if your computer has one, its built in SD card reader. As far as troubleshooting the camera, I would first try a new USB cable from the camera to the computer. If that does not work, you can send the camera out for repair or just abandon use of the direct camera to computer method and us the card reader.

Where do you get a card reader for Nikon S70

Your camera already has a card reader built-in. If you want a card reader for your computer, you should be able to find them at just about any department, electronics. or office-supply store. Make sure the card reader is compatible with your computer as well as with SD/SDHC cards.

How do you get the pics off of a Nikon S70

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Monitor not working

Good question - Needs Answer that har Ramaraj skillfully neglected to supply with his, what only sounds great, "reset switch' answer. ...without detailing the actual location of said switch that even the existence of is now in question. ...but it sounded good Ramaraj! and isn't that what really counts these days? That's what I just love (NOT) about Yahoo answers. So many useless opinions that don't give a needed answer to the asker. Some almost completely ignoring the question and spinning off into the responder's soapbox soliloquies. Most of the time it's because there are a lot of lonely geeks in desperate need of some kind of recognition. They think they now know everything about any repair now because of that one hammer in their toolbox. A tool which has miraculously been able to smash all their problems to bits. An ego spinning tool Which has caused many to quite prematurely and very erroneously concluded that somehow a hammer, or some method or other of hammering, simply fits into being the prime candidate for a 'fix for all problems' in the universe!! Who Knew, beside that now quickly resigned Particle Physics Scientist who's new found hammer pounded out the new laws of physics of faster than light neutrinos on greased lightening. Before a 'wait a minute here. PROCESS CHECK' came along to question only using the hammer accelerator to measure and justify his/it's conclusions about magic other worldly neutrinos. Like has been said since leptons were knee high to a quarks, "When the only tool you have is a hammer, the whole world looks like a nail." Speaking of which ...does one use a nail to get at that mysterious reset switch, the proof of which is best left to generalized mystery unless you have a friend who works for NSA. They have all the useful stuff in a locked closet of secrets for what could only be some pretty diabolical reasons! My solution? Charge up the old defib hold paddles firmly at key points of the L810, D3100, or any other frozen Nikon device and enjoy the crackle. Caution!!: To insure a completely enjoyable experience ...Please wear Safety Goggles! I've have this problem and read everywhere to find only useless answers and no direct responses from Nikon or any Nikon Savvy Operators. Those guys just don't buy cheap camera and do stupid things with them like the rest of us. Someday maybe even I will be able to not write or help anyone in the cheap seats too.

My nikon d70 says that file does not contain image

Hi,
If the memory card came from a different camera and inserted into the Nikon D70, the error message will appear. Just format the memory card with the D70 and the error should disappear.
Hope this helps.

Nikon Battery into charger, blinks 3 times then no light.

I don't think the charger will blink again when you put back the battery. The manual says, when the battery is placed and the charge lamp does not glow, the battery is defect. See the manual: link to manual

Help! Deleted images!

First do not panic! It is possible to recover your pictures if you take care. Take the card from the camera (powered off) and if it has a "write protect" tab then lock it now. Do not try and write anything to the card or you risk causing more problems.

You can either plug in you camera to the PC as it should appear as a “Removable Drive” or put the card in a card reader attached to your PC.

Next, if you are comfortable with using a PC then you can download a FREE utility that will recover your photos from the following link:

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec

If you need something a little more "user friendly" then you will need to buy the software. If you search the web for photo recovery software you will find many.
One I have used successfully is RescuePro that used to be bundled with some Sandisk products. Now you can get it from the link below:

http://www.lc-tech.com/software/prwindetail.html

You can try the demo to see what you can recover before buying.

Remember - Do NOT try & write anything back to the card until you can recover your pictures to your PC safely!

Please take a moment to rate this solution & let us know if the information given was useful to you – Good Luck!

This can be due to many issues. Check the battery to be sure it's charged. Be sure the lens in seated properly. You may want to remove the lens and replace it. It could be a defective CF card. Try replacing your CF mem card with a different one. Let me know.
