Could probably tell you but you didn't say what you're connecting TV to. Think about it...provide half the info needed...don't get an answer.

is the normal tv input for high definition? Don't understand that term. I have a dish receiver, when I use an hdmi cable I get a really nice picture even with Roku

There is no such external reset button to this TV. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If the set switches ON for a while; say 2 seconds or so, and then switches Off by itself, the main board is faulty.

Our 47" Olevia remote uses 'Aspect' to set/change the size and aspect ratio of the picture- look to see if yours is also so marked.

Improper infrared signal output from the remote control. It might be faulty. Try an other remote control. Electro help

If the tv is not coming on, then you may need a new tv. If it is coming on and its just the light that bothers you, a quick fix would be to put a small piece of black electrical tape over the light. I read thru the owners manual and found no setting for this specific issue. Id suggest contacting Olevia. Hope this helps a little. just look under or the buttons on the right side of your tv and play with them have fun beleave me you will get the hint eventualy

The power supply board of those TVs is known to fail. It is hard to find and expensive and a logical first suspect in your situation. We do not have it, but we will likely be able to test it and, since this is what we do, probably have good chance at fixing it. We do not currently officially offer a repair for it however you are still welcome to send it through www.coppelltvrepair.com/newservice. Price, if successful, will be in the range of other 42'' power supply boards we repair and at any rate less than what you'd pay for a replacement if you find one. If we don't fix it you'll only pay return shipping of about the same as what you'd pay to send it to us. And if the board turns out to be fine you'll pay about $20 diagnostic fee plus the return S&H. Fault with the main power supply regulator board. If the DC voltage output from this card to main board and panel is abnormal, this kind of flickering can occur. One of the buttons has flattened out try the remote first and see if it will pop up, if so replace remote. Then try the one on the TV itself which is more likely...that one will require a new PC board with the buttons on it.

Do you know for sure if the cable box is out sometimes you have to reset the box . usually if you unplug the box for a couple of minutes it will reboot that may do it or try rebooting both at the same time when power is off it really isn't as the units keep current available for instant on that's why its a good idea to unplug most of your appliances when going away. check out the rebooting that should do it
