Sounds like the main board is having an issue with the power on command. You can get free technical assistance to troubleshoot that model from www.tvrepairworld.com

If no power light present you need to have the fuse going to the cord checked and if light present someone needs to open and examine power board and check voltages first.depending on what is found boards may have to be purchased and tried.If taken to a shop: some will just "look" and shoot you a high estimate to collect the estimate fee.Remember: no one can KNOW which board will fix it until they actually install the part and have a known working unit.

you need to check and see if you have 24v from the power supply to the ballast if you do the problem is going to be the ballast ( inverter board ) bad capacitor

In this case the cost to repair this problem is likely close to the cost to replace the TV, have you checked the prices of Flat screens, they have never been cheaper. If you have a screen backlight bulb problem then about $400-$500 to repair, if it is a main circuit board about the same.

hi, the first step that you need to do is to check the power supply board this will require opening the back cover of your TV set.once the cover is remove you can immediately see the power supply board this is where the power cord is connected.visually check the components on it remove any bulge deformed capacitors,check the fuses replace the fuse if it is burned.test the power board after replacing the parts.use your multimeter to measure the power output there must be a 12v,5v 24volts present on the output terminal....If this voltages are present then your TV should be working again.....

I have same problem and i put in a new power supply and this did not solve problem. I will be changing out main board next and post results.

HelloIf you are using RGB mode, make sure that H size and V position in the On Screen Display [OSD] are set correctly.If you are using TV, AV-C, AV-S or Component with 480i input, use the WIDE button on the remote control to scroll through various screen modes. OK.

My first guess would be your t-con board. The t-con board is the one that transfers teh picture from your signal board to your screen. My second guess would be the siganl board is bad. You can get parts at www.interliquidparts.com

possible causes are abscense of heater voltage, problem with brightness controll or screen grid voltage missing. horizontal fail is not common in this symptom but more specific info is required for this.
