Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

#1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
# 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
# 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
# 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
# 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
# 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

You will need to go into the menu and painstakingly go through every menu and submenu until you spot the word "english"...select it and click on it.

Try pulling the memory card out of camera too see if you can take a picture with out the memory card in place.

If you can do this the memory card is locked. Look at the memory card and find small swith on the side. Look for the lock symbol and be sure the switch is not in the locked position. Move the switch as needed.

Put the card back in and try it. This should solve your problem

I am thinking that your new computer must be using Vista. You should consult with the camera manufacture for details conserning this.

If the camera is more than about 5 years old, the manufacture many not support it with Vista. We are seeing a lot of this type of thing.

Vista is having many compatibility issues with different softwares and drivers, and especialy for older devices.

You cannot. You need the installation software to install it! Contact the manufacture or see your camera dealer for details about how to order a copy of the software.

on the bottom of your camera on the right hand side there is a tab that you would'nt really notice unless you know it is there. It slides and pops open

You must have pics on the internal memory. That's what the camera is telling you. You should format the internal memory with no card in the camera. Then, insert the card and it should work properly.

if you purchased the camera from a retailer or reseller, they may have a copy of the manual available.

This is going to take patience and maybe the user guide. To turn on the Digivue 1.3, follow these steps: Connect to Your PC: Connect the standard USB cable (supplied) to a free USB socket on your PC. The end of the USB cable should be connected to the socket on the back of the USB digidock.
