clean with CLR and then water rinse....use DRIP fine grind
1 tablespoon per cup..........remember strength is the coffee and the amount of water.

Is this problem happening by chance after you have used the maker? If so the heat from the previous use may be causing the water to steam from being so hot and thus causing the pot to be only half full. the hotter the maker the more water evaporates. You might need to let it cool down in between pots.

Contact Bunn online. They will send you a repair kit with instructions.

the tray you pour the water into sits directly on the tank that heats the water with a gasket between tray and tank, this gasket has worn away, Bunn no longer sends replacement gasket, I made one myself

there is a switch on the side of the brewer, a red part will show on the switch if it is on ( l is depressed on the switch not the O )

does not heat up
