This is a very small 50mm refractor telescope. The same aperture as a pair of 10x50mm binoculars, which would have been better for viewing sky objects. The maximum possible magnification is about 100 power (50 times aperture of 2 inches).
The field of view is very small you must be pointed directly at the sky object to see it. This is why we recommend a pair of binoculars as your first telescope. Binoculars have a wider field of view which makes finding things easier for the beginner.

I need a new tri-pod
Not worth it. Buy a better scope (Meade, Celestron or Orion) and save frustration

How do you look though and see Star . Tasco 45-060525 does it need a light or something?
No, they only collect the light from the stars or the moon. First you have to be in a place with very little light pollution. I live in a city and haven't seen stars here for 17 years. Also you must let your eyes acclimatize to the dark.
In reality, this telescope will only be suitable for the moon, but the moon will fill the Object lens and show great detail. You may also see some planets if you can find them, but generally it turns a small speck of light into a larger speck of light. The International Space Station should also show well.
