Replace ignition button

Hello Angela, does your cooker looks like this one? rangemaster toledo 90 dual fuel oven-0yoolynjmjiwls2vrkoxh3po-5-0.jpg Then one of the very small buttons should be for the ignition. To replace that, you need to remove the control board, as they are screwed at the back. So work for an engineer. But I know a much easier way. Clean your button with brake cleaner, or thinner or something like that. Try to find the cheapest spray can with silverpaint. Be shure that you have covered all the parts that you do not want to be sprayed and only spray that part of the button that needs to be silver. Every one will tell you that you are an Expert. Good luck with it, Dik

Can i fit a glass lid to my Rangemaster Toledo 90? It has never had one fitted and wondering if one can be fitted. Thanks

No not if it has never had one fitted by the manufacturer as it wont have a safety device fitted to close the gas supply in the advent that the lid is closed while a burner is still a light which would shatter the safety glass and cause injury to the user. Some glass lidded cookers where imported to England when i was an apprentice gas engineer and no safety device fitted and the lids exploded and where soon made illegal.

Squeaking fan belt

I had a book written for you and remembered something basic I learned in electronics school and had to delete it all. Sigh. So with a smile I start all over and hopefully make this short. Are you certain there is a belt? Let's assume there is. A belt means a motor is spinning the belt which is spinning another pulley or "wheel". You could be correct that the belt needs to be changed. They stretch over time causing slippage. That is one way you hear "squeak". The other way which I hate and am dealing with on my car right now is the pulley or pulley's themselves. If you don't have a belt then your motor is directly running your fan. That means the "squeal" is coming from the pulley's bearings. Most fans I have seen come pre greased from the manufacturer and are not made with a hole to squirt a little inside. They are designed with an expected lifespan. That's another story though. The bearings get too dry and they begin to, well, drag. That drag is the squeal you hear. Your warning sign that pretty soon they are going to stop dragging and just dry up and stop rolling completely. When that happens you may turn your fan on and hear a hum but the fan doesn't work. To simplify this for everyone, the ball bearings inside no longer roll so the fan no longer spins. You may have a belt and two pulley's (or more like in a car) and have a good belt but a bad pulley. Most people throw away the product thinking it is no longer useable when all that is needed is to loosen a single screw in the middle of the pulley and replacing it with it's exact make giving the device another jillion years of use. Now for the conclusion. If you find that the pulley is the problem, go ahead and change that belt that has never been changed to save yourself from the squeal you will hear from that new strong pulley making that loose belt squeal. One last thing. Check by seeing if it wobbles when turned on or feels loose and slightly wobbly when turned by hand, with it turned off of course. Good luck.

Setting the clock

To set the time, turn and hold the Timer knob to the clock symbol = and at the same time turn the Adjusting knob left or right until the clock shows the time of day. Remember this is a 24-hour clock. Let go of the Timer knob and it will spring back to the vertical, oven manual setting.

I need to reset the clock for summertime but cant!

push the button on the front of the stove that says "clock" and then turn the dial (same one you use for timer and oven temp) till you get the time you want, then LEAVE IT ALONE and it will set itself. Don't touch anything once you have the time set with the knob.

I have 0.00 and aoto flashing on and off.

After a power failure most digital clocks have the zero's and auto flashing. These ovens will not work if clock(time of day) is not set. By pressing incorrect buttons, you can complicate things further. Recommend turning off power to oven for a few seconds, then follow manual for resetting clock, which is usually holding down the 2 buttons on the left hand side simultaneously, and holding down these two press the + or - key to advance clock.

Range master toledo 90

I would follow these requirements if I were you:

The cooker must be connected to the correct electrical supply as stated on the voltage label on the cooker (This is obvious so far!). It should be connected through a suitable cooker control unit incorporating a double pole switch having a contact separation of at least 3mm in all poles (This means one of those big red switches with "COOKER" written on them). The cooker must NOT be connected to an ordinary domestic power point. The cable size used should be between 6mm squared and 10mm squared twin and earth. Where the installation is protected by a 30 milliamp sensitivity residual current device (RCD Breaker), the combined use of your cooker and other domestic appliances may occasionally cause nuisance tripping. In these instances, the cooker circuit may need to be protected by fitting a 100 milliamp device. This work should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
