Touch the navigation screen to view the MENU ... select CHANGE PREFERENCES / SETTING ... and look for an icon for "FACTORY RESET". I'm assuming you wish to do this because all the (previous) info and settings (e.g. HOME location, etc.) is not what you want; the reset will remove all those user settings.

If you want to set (or reset) your HOME to be a new location/address, go to the MENU ... select CHANGE PREFERENCES / SETTINGS ... and look for an icon that says CHANGE HOME LOCATION

Perhaps your usb cable is defect? Also the USB connector in your device can be defect. If a new cable does not work, you should investigate the connector. I don't think it is wise to repair a connector, because it could be you can buy a brand new Tomtom for the same amount of money, you spent when going to a repair centre.

The cold weather will have drained the battery to absolute zero. When ALL tomtoms are turned off they go in standby and do not actually turn off. The battery will have dropped below what is called 'critical voltage'. Put it on a MAINS charger for 12 hours. THEN RESET the switch underneath for 30 seconds and power up.
