Hotpoint 23 in. BFI62 Built-in Dishwasher - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Hi,my hotpoint df 41 trips the mains every time it
Yes, you need to remove the element taking note of the connections and wire colors. Also note the seals used on the element. Remember that sometimes a "cold" element does not show the fault and only once heated does the "short circuit" show. Take the element with you to the dealer as many different elements (shapes and sizes as well as electrical connections on elements are available).
Door catch inoperative
I've found
www.tdspares.co.uk and
www.espares.co.uk both to be pretty reliable.
Rather than guessing about your heat problem, stick a voltmeter across the two insulated terminals (ie not the earth terminal on the mounting plate) and see what happens when you run the machine.
If you see mains volts, but no heat, your element is dead.
If you don't see mains volts when it should be heating, the problem is upstream. Trace the wiring from the element and see if there's anything obvious before investing in a new pcb.

Hotpoint dishwasher BF1620 blew the main fuse
This is happening because you have a very bad fault, a Phase to Earth short, problem. Leave machine UNPLUGGED, Breaker/Fuses OUT. do NOT use it, nor Touch it, It is possible to get severe electric shock. PLEASE get a registered serviceman to inspect this unit.
Dishwasher will not empty after cycle and motor
The motor is frozen. Remove the bottom kick plate and with unit in off position take a screw driver or use your hands to turn the motor. You will feel the motor when it lets go. Close door and turn on dishwasher and you should be fine. Very common with the GE made dish washers.
Extra suds due to liquid soap in the machine
This is strange. Are you using an electric dishwasher liquid soap, OR are you using a dish soap that you manually use to wash dishes?
REGULAR dish soap liquid that is not specifically made for dishwashers creates a foamy suds with lots of bubbles that will in fact bubble out of your dishwasher.
on the other hand.
Electric Dishwasher detergent will NOT create foamy suds with lots of bubbles.
Switch your soap. The next cycle any residue suds or soap will be gone as long as you use the proper liquid detergent. I would also recommend using a rinse agent which further helps break down and rinse off residue.
Help---0xc18a0206 error display. was
Hi,
Couple of steps that need to be done in order to rectify this error:
First, without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
Next remove the cartridges from the product. Now wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product. Wait for a minute. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button ( ). Put the cartridges back, and then close any open doors on the product. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so. Connect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again. It should work.
Please let me know if this does not help else please accept it.

I have a XEROX Phaser
Hi,
The major reason for this is a bad print head. Not knowing how old are the cartridges or the printer normally it's just like a light bulb and burns out after much use. There are two sections in the cleaning assembly for cleaning, one for color and one for black, and if one pump quits you will need to replace it with a new purge assembly. In such circumstances you need to get a job test done at a shop. Would recommend the print head first. Please let me know if this does not help else please accept it.

Water leaking under dishwasher, around motor
hi friend,
Tightening the fittings
-
Step 1
Remove the service panel that runs along the front of the dishwasher just below the door. If it is screwed in place, remove the screws with a screwdriver. If the panel hangs on hooks, pull the panel out and swing it up to remove it from the hooks.
-
Step 2
Check the end of the drain hose that connects to the dishwasher. If it's leaking, tighten the clamp with a screwdriver.
-
Step 3
Check the drain hose connection to the kitchen sink drain. Again, if it's leaking, tighten the clamp with a screwdriver.
-
Step 4
Check for leaks around the water-inlet valve. If necessary, use an adjustable wrench to tighten the compression fitting that connects the water-supply line to the valve. If the fill hose is leaking, replace the spring clamp that is on the hose with a worm-drive hose clamp. It produces more clamping pressure. Use adjustable pliers to compress the spring clamp so you can pull the clamp and hose off the valve. Remove the spring clamp from the hose. Buy a worm-drive clamp at your hardware store, then install it and tighten it with a screwdriver.
Leveling the machine
-
Step 1
Remove the front access panel (see step 1, "Tightening the fittings"). This will give you access to the dishwasher's adjustable feet.
-
Step 2
Open the door completely and remove the bottom dish rack.
-
Step 3
Unscrew the dishwasher from the kitchen countertop so the dishwasher can move freely as you adjust the feet.
-
Step 4
Check to see if the dishwasher is level side to side. Place a small level inside the dishwasher so it's sitting on the bottom pan and facing parallel to the front lip of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher is not level, use adjustable pliers to turn one of the dishwasher's front feet up or down until you hit level.
-
Step 5
Check to see if the dishwasher is level front to back. Turn the level perpendicular to the door, and place it on one of the bottom ledges that run along the side of the cabinet. Check the level again. If the dishwasher isn't level, use your adjustable pliers to turn the back feet up or down until you hit level.
-
Step 6
Reattach the dishwasher to the countertop and reinstall the front access panel.
Fixing a leaking door
-
Step 1
Inspect the door gasket. As it ages, the gasket can crack or become hard, preventing it from sealing completely.
-
Step 2
If the gasket appears solid, adjust the door latch so the door seals tightly. Loosen the screw that holds the door latch to the cabinet. Push the latch in slightly and retighten the screw. Test the door and readjust the latch if necessary.
-
Step 3
Replace the gasket if water continues to leak after you've tightened the latch. Most gaskets are held by compression in a groove on the door or on the dishwasher cabinet.
-
Step 4
Pull the old gasket out of its groove, using adjustable pliers (see illustration). Take the gasket to an appliance store to get a replacement.
-
Step 5
Soak the new gasket in warm water to soften it, then press it into the groove. Start at the top, then work your way down the sides and across the bottom.

var $this = jQuery(this);
$this.find('img').error(function(){
jQuery(this).remove();
$this.remove();
});
});
Tips & Warnings
-
If your dishwasher has an air gap, which prevents dirty water from re-entering the machine, clean it regularly. Otherwise, it could overflow and leak.
-
Always use detergent that's made for your dishwasher. Dishwashing liquids and other soaps can create excessive suds that will leak from the machine.
-
Occasionally, the main seal between the dishwasher cabinet and the pump fails. If your dishwasher leaks at this spot, have a professional replace the seal.

How long should the 2 programme take.
its listed as appx 1hr 45mins.. whilst the dishwasher starts and finishes a cycle then it has done what it is supposed to (as long as plates are clean).. external factors adds time like scaled heating element,low water pressure (longer to fill) or restricted drainage (slow to drain)..
My dishwasher does not close, the locking
Hi.
Replacing the door switch is not too complicate, but should still be done by a trained person.
Here the procedure:
Trip the circuit breaker or disconnect power cord.
Remove the screws at the sides of the door to remove door.
and the screws holding the trim, there are two on each side, and two holding the lock.
Remove the trim to access to the door lock, disconnect the wiring from the door lock micro switch and replace with new one.
Parts can be ordered calling the number listed on the owner manual.
Made buzzing nosie then stoped
Hello, The problem here is something most likely a piece of glass stuck in the pump which is seizing up the motor. You should pull i out from under the counter and take the pump apart to clear the blockage. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment again. Mike
Water comes into dishwasher without being turned
if the water is entering the dishwasher without your turning the unit on you got problems..
just want to verify that it does it even with the power turned off to the unit also..
if so the fill valve is bad and stuck open.
hope this helps,
best of luck,
ttfn
