Water doesnt drain and water nozzle doesnt

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Same problem here. It's been a while since we used it. HDA 3440GO2SA. I think I've narrowed it down to the motor seizing. I get 12.2 ohms on the windings and a local tech says the windings are good then. Some decent troubleshooting videos here http://www.appliancehelponline.com/dishwashernotrunning.html. Turn the breaker off for the unit (so you have no power), remove the bottom panel and kick plate. take a screw driver and try to turn the motor fan blades. If it turns really hard keep turning it until it loosens up. If it turns freely, pull the plug, test the power coming in with your multimeter (requires turning breaker back on, of course, but after the leads are inserted in the plug). You should have around 120 volts with the door switch activated and wash cycle on. Anyhooo...I plan on trying to pull the hub and clean it up, put some di-electric grease on it and re-assemble. If that doesn't work then I'll debate whether to spend 150+ on a new motor or just get a new dishwasher...lol.

How old is my Hotpoint

The motor is stuck. If you remove the lower cover and see a square aluminum motor it is less than 7 years old. Make sure power is off at breaker and rotate the motor shaft
by turning the fins inside the motor.
If the motor is black and round you have to turn
the fan blade which is located in a slot between the metal pump and the plastic
pump. Also once freed, a light shot of silicone or WD-40 (silicone works better) at the
bearing ends. Also check pump for leaks around the drain solenoid (shiny shaft attached
to a plastic triangle). If it's leaking during pumpout, the seal has failed. The pump runs
around 100 dollars typically. Hope this helps.

Will not drain

a couple of things to look for ...you want to make sure the drain is clear...usually you can remove line from under sink and check connection for obstruction and clean out... also remove screen from lower portion of dishwasher and check inside there for any foreign materials. alot of times you have to remove spray arm to gain access ,but a fairly easy process. if all that looks good take bottom panel off of dishwasher and under unit you will see a square metal device with a solenoid on it and usually has a short rod on it attached to the pump assembly.. this is a real common problem the drain solenoid goes bad... if you turn dial slowly you should see this solenoid move up and down at different times in the cycle. you should also here a click and it begin to try and drain..if it doesnt move then it most likely is bad.. you can also unplug and see if your getting power to it in the drain cycle on the timer .... if it is moving then ot is possible the drain pump has failed...hope tis helps you out... p.s. if you have a garbage disposal or recently installed a garbage disposal a common proble people forget to knock the plug out on the neck assembly where the drain line attaches.(only if you recently installed a garbage disposal does this pertain)

Hi

White film deposits are observed if water is hard or when you are using more detergent than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results.
You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle.
Hope this helps... Please post back if more information is required.

Why doesn't the dishwasher drain?

The problem is likely a blockage in the drain line that runs from the dishwasher to the sink. you should take the panel out from under the door and then disconnect the drain line and check for a blockage.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

Hi

This is happening due a a faulty fill valve or due to blockage in fill hose. Please check the water inlet hose, try removing it and check for any blockages. If the inlet water hose is fine then you'll need to check the water inlet valve/fill valve. Use a multimeter to check the continuity on fill valve. Make sure the connections on the fill valve/s are fine. Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.
