Water will not pump out of dishwasher and fills up
The problem Is you have a clog between the air-gap on the sink and where it attaches to the drain. If this is a new install and you have it hooked up to the garbage disposal you need to make sure you have knocked out the plug on the disposal.
As for it not pumping out the dishwasher that means the pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned out.
Re-installing door latch
Check the connector to the door latch microswitch, the connector or the line is probably broken. In that case the timer board will keep thinking that the door is open, and cycle will not start.
You can test the switch and connector jumping the switch, and the wire reading Ohms with multimeter set at Rx1 and multimeter probes pointing at door lock contacts on control assembly and latch connectors. If there is no continuity, then wiring is broken.
Power must be off during the test.
Why is the water not draining out dishwasher?
Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues
can arise due to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to
kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain
hose) & clogged drain pump & filter. Also note that dishwashers do not
drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are
designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element
doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water
being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common
reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump
isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s
drain lines.
First
check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked.
Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. Has the
disposer been replaced recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place.
Simply remove the drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the
disposer has not been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer
and use a wet-dry vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and
hopefully anything else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test
the unit. If you have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate
the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher. Please do
accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further
assistance.

Hotpoint HDA3400g dishwasher is not running. I
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. Please check for the following if your dishwasher
is not working--
1. Fuse (blown or tripped).
2. 120 VAC supply wiring
connection faulty. Repair or replace wire fasteners at dishwasher junction box.
3. Electronic control board
faulty.
4. Motor (inoperative, check
resistances).
5. Door switch (open contacts).
6. Door latch not making contact
with door switch.
7. Touch pad circuit defective.
8. No indicator lamps illuminate
when START or OPTIONS is depressed.
If its due to the water inlet valve then it should at least start its cycle and will overfill or under-fill to let us know that the valve has gone bad. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or
else revert for further assistance.
Thanks

Dishwasher won't drain
two things could be the problem. 1 the solenoid that activates the drain is bad and needs replacement or 2 the pump motor has jammed. To unjamm the motor you need to take the lower panel off the unit and usinmg a flashlight look inside at the back of the motor. Turn your unit on and if possible advance the timer to the drain cycle. Once you get to the drain cycle the solenoid should activate you will hear it click. If you dont hear it activate then the solenoid is gone. If you do hear it activate then look at the back of the motor to see if it is turning. If it isn't turning then unplug the unit take a small flat head screwdriver and using the screwdriver move the fins on the motor shaft they should spin without too much effort. Once you have done this replug the unit and check to see if it now drains. If not then the drain motor has gone out and will need replacement
Hope this helped

Hda34440go25a hotpoint dishwasher not raining
There is a piston and nut assembly under the screen going acorss the back of the inside tub. Remove the screen and replace the piston that screws in the middle there. WD24X10018. Less than 20.00
I have a hot point model hda3400g02bb it doesnt
Not your pump. At the back of the dishwasher you will see what looks like a screen. 4 screws hold this in. remove the screws and you will see right in the center a plunger assembly. Replace this because the small rubber cone is eaten away. Cost less than 20.00.
When the water cycle is running there is a white
crack in water inlet valve or a pin hole in the hose going from the valve to side of tub spraying water where you see it. You have a holein someting. You need to trace it back to its sourse. When you say "water is running"im guessing thats when its filling with water not just washing.
Water from my disposal backs up into my hotpoint
If it's what I think, it's a simple fix. Does your dishwasher drain run along the floor of the cabinet, then up to the disposal? (my guess is yes). There should be an "air gap" between the disposal and dishwasher, this means when it comes out of the disposal, it should go UP and be clipped to the highest point of the inside of your cabinet, then down. Think about it, sh*t flows downhill, but it can't get over a hump. Good luck
The door will not stay down when loading dishes.
Remove the lower panels. The door spring goes from the hinge to the frame. On the frame are severla notches, the furthest away from the front has the most tension, the one closest has the least. Try to move the spring to a closer notch (on both sides)
Hope this helps, Ken
My Hotpoint dishwashers water stopped turning on.
check that your float valve is not stuck in the upper position. This will stop water from entering machine. If it is not stuck( a utensil may be stuck under the float valve) then the float valve relay switch may be the problem The float valve is in the bottom back usually under the lower rack of dishwasher
